WALL-E
« on: July 20, 2008, 11:55:06 AM »
Has anyone here seen this yet? I went to a digital presentation of it in Leicester Square on Friday. Booked the day off work to see it. :P Man, that's sad... But I've been waiting anxiously for this movie for at least a year- ever since I saw the very first picture of WALL-E. I try not to hype movies up too much in my mind because they then tend to not live up to my expectations. However, WALL-E certainly did live up to my hype. ;D Absolutely brilliant. And the first half hour or so is truly a masterpiece. It's the first time where a movie ended & I wanted to start it over from the beginning again- at least to watch that first bit again.

It does go SLIGHTLY downhill after that first bit but it's still an excellent movie. And WALL-E is now my favorite Pixar (and possibly my all-time favorite MOVIE) character. I'm a huge movie geek and I worship Pixar. Why oh why can't most live action movies be at least half as good as the Pixar movies? And how can a little animated robot seem more human than most live actors? I really thought nothing would ever top Toy Story but I'm thinking WALL-E has. It's a tough one! I think Toy Story has a better story overall but WALL-E is a great character & the MAIN theme of the movie, although extremely simple, is done SO well.

Anyway, big thumbs up from me. (Obviously!)  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

My 18 & 12 year old daughters LOVED it, so did I. It's a good movie for any age. In fact, it was my 18 year old's birthday last thursday, and as we were at the mall, she went into the Disney store and got a stuffed WALL-E with some of her birthday money.
We are a nation that has a government -- not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the earth. Our government has no power except that granted to it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government, which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.
Ronald Reagan

My husband and I went to see this last week. We missed about the first 5 or 10 minutes of it (which was dissapointing) but we just loved it.
