When do the track & field events start? Every time I turn on the TV it seems to be boxing or judo or wrestling. I'd also like to see some of the baseball that has already started but I don't think the Beeb has shown any of that so far.

I think the only baseball we are due to get is the final (maybe semis) via interactive

There are a bunch of different theories I've heard, but the most plausible is that neither baseball nor softball sell tickets.

It's more down to the MLB. The IOC want each sport to have it's top competitors in it, whilst the MLB want to promote the sport worldwide, in order to satisfy the IOC they'd have to allow the top players to join up with their national sides which would mean a 2 or 3 week break in the season, just as the pennant races are coming down to the wire - so the MLB wouldn't do this.

I'm LOVING the dressage. I know it's probably a bit boring if you're not particularly horsey, but I could watch it for hours..... It gives me chiles.

Oh, I mean chills.

Similar with the footy problems then...no clubs want to relseas players for the Olympics as they will miss the first two or three games of the seaosn (more if in Europe).

The tennis is great today! I didn't think Gonzalez would beat Blake but he did so looking like probably a Nadal v Gonzalez final, after Nadal wipes the floor with Djokovich this afternoon.  ;D

I caught some of the high jump this morning, so yes the athletics has started now, yippee!

Cuba seems to be ahead in the baseball even though some of the best Cuban players are in the MLB.

Don't know about wiping the floor. Dokkie just beat Nadal a couple of weeks ago in Cincinnatti. (sp?) Should be a good match - though it's definitely Nadal's time and Dokkie has been rather inconsistent in his playing this year. (I gotta love any man whose hair could double for carpet...)

Isnt the medals table in the US indicated by total number and not total gold?

Lol..yes, unlike all the other countries...guess who's top of their version of the table ;)

This is going to sound odd, but is it me, or does Kelly Sotherton not have a belly button??!!!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Yeah I didn't really think he would thrash him, was just sending out some good vibes!! But it'll be an interesing final I think. Don't know anything about Gonzalez besides what I've seen the last couple of days. What's his world ranking?

My friend's dad is missing his.  They did an appendectomy through it, and when the scar healed, it was gone!

He's 15th....fairly respectable but I not the final I would've hoped for. :-\\\\
