New to the UK
« on: May 18, 2004, 05:28:17 PM »
Hi everyone-- I haven't used this site in awhile, and now it's 2 weeks before I move to London!! I'm from Virginia and have never lived in a city as big as London. I would love to meet new people when I arrive and would also appreciate any advice from those of you who have taken this leap!! Thanks-- Rebecca  :D

Hi there.  I won't be there when you arrive, but I'll be coming shortly after to London too.  I'm heading that way late July.  I'd love to meet up with you when I'm there!  Good luck with your trip over...can't wait to hear how it went!

Hi, welcome!  I'll be there in two weeks too;)  I live in Guildford, which is only about 40 minutes by train to Waterloo.  I don't know London that well, but my Husband does, and so do many people on this site.  Everyone is very helpful and friendly!  You came to the right place.  We will have to arrange another UKY meeting soon, I have yet to meet people in person too!

Hi Nurse from a fellow VA person. I don't live there now, but consider it home .  You must just be nervous and so excited!

We have meetings in the London area so make sure to check out the meetings board for one near you!  I hope to see more posts in the future!

Hi Nurse.  Welcome :D I don't live in the UK yet, but will in just a few short months.  Good luck with the move!  Hope everything works out great.

Another non-Londoner here but welcome nevertheless!  ;D
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Hello Rebecca, from another Rebekah!  ;D

Sorry for this very late welcome.  I assume from your handle that you are a registered nurse?  If so, I have a ton of questions for you, as I'm in nursing school now.

I'm not on the English side of the Atlantic yet, I still live in Pennsylvania with my husband and son, so I'm envious of you.  Good luck over there and welcome to the board.   8) 8) 8)
