I dont think thats weird! I love breakfast sausage smothered in maple syrup, in fact back in the states I used to buy Jimmy Dean Maple Flavored Sausage! Would be a gods send if I could find that here!
Fritos and cream cheese is amazing too!

It's not just me! Mmmmm I love jimmy dean sausage on homemade buttermilk biscuits and gravy!
Finding our American faves is sometimes impossible, but I found this recipe

Jimmy Dean Maple Sausage
1 pound Pork, ground
3 tablespoon(s) Maple syrup
1 tablespoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon MSG(Accent)
Combine all ingredients and store overnight.
Shape into patties or links and fry in skillet.
If that turns out to be awful then this is the recipe for the original flavor Jimmy Dean.
Jimmy Dean Sage Sausage (Breakfast sausage)
1 pound Pork, ground
1 tablespoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Parsley, dried
1/4 teaspoon Sage, dried
1/4 teaspoon Black pepper, fresh ground
1/4 teaspoon Thyme, dried
1/4 teaspoon Red pepper flakes, crushed
1/4 teaspoon Coriander powder
1/4 teaspoon MSG(Accent)
Combine all ingredients and let sit overnight to marry.
Shape into patties or links and fry in skillet.
