Aww, talking to my parents last night and they had gone out for New England style fried seafood Friday night. I was drooling as they spoke about it.
Fried whole belly clams, fried scallops, fried haddock, fried shrimp, clam fritters, french fries, onion rings, coleslaw, and a roll with butter.   The place they go has a crispy, light batter and really clean oil.  Heaven on a plate.  Drooling now thinking about it.  We never had a chance to get this stuff when we were there.
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Not a seafood person but I am REALLY missing summertime back home. I don't usually get homesick during summer (it's usually fall) but because of this consistent hot weather reminding me of what it was like in summer back home for a month straight, it's making me miss summer foods and summer way of living - like eating BBQ and watermelon by the pool! Talking to my family is killing me as they will ring me while doing this type of stuff!

OK, we have BBQ, we have watermelon. Just use your prime for one of these and you are sorted !

Or even better, one of these !

I wish I could convince my husband we needed a proper pool. I know we have all those things here but it's the way that we spend our summer here is different from the way we spend our summers here. I miss marinated turkey tips! I tried marinating my own here, but for some reason it wasn't as good as the deli near my house that sells it pre-marinated :D

I would just love a proper, mesquite-smoked brisket sandwich, with a side of coleslaw and fries, and a side of dill pickles.

Or ... a funnel cake.

Or ... a double-double.  8)

Sigh. I will be having, probably, a sausage and cheese roll from Greggs. Which I will miss if we have to move away from here.

As a kid on my birthday, my mom would let me pick what I wanted for breakfast and she'd make it. I'd more times than not request Fried dough and she'd make it! I could really go for some fried dough.... I could easily make it but I know it'd just be for me because my husband would say it's either too sweet or too unhealthy.

When I lived in Lubbock there was a place that served fried catfish, with a side of french fries, and deep fried bread - basically, those canned biscuit dough biscuits that had been tossed into a deep fryer, and served with honey.

My arteries are clogging thinking about it, but it was pretty good. At the time. We also used to make the fried bread at home, in a cast-iron pan full of hot oil.

There is a place in Glasgow that does General Tso chicken... pretty well from what I've been told. I'll have to look it up again.
