Waiting for Phatbeetle to ring in from Klingon.  Maybe they had something different way up north.

It's ok. If it makes you feel any better, I don't and have never had a smart phone, a Facebook account, or gone on Twitter (except for that one incident with the lost mail). So I had the standard childhood but am spending my adulthood in the alternate universe.  ;D 8)

No smart phone?  How do you keep posting here all the time?  You must be wearing out your desktop computer.

I have always only used a desktop computer. I do have a laptop, but rarely use it.  ;D

Wait, didn't I say

That's awesome!

I of course had a ViewMaster.  I was talking to my parents the other night and my Mom was talking about how the grandkids were absolutely loving the ViewMaster slides that she looked at as a kid and that we also looked at.   She has a whole range of slides from the 1920s-present now.  She was happy that the 3 and 4 and 5 year old grandkids sat still for more than 2 minutes and they just thought it was so 'cool'.  I'd love a ViewMaster now.
My husband knew what it was, but he said it had a different brand name in the UK. I wonder? Is that true, since you found a ViewMaster in a charity shop?

I might be the only person in the Western world who didn't have a Viewmaster growing up.  I looked through them at friends' houses (though my friends were always bored of them and couldn't be bothered to wait for me to eventually get bored of it, so I didn't get to see much).  I feel like my childhood took place in an alternate universe sometimes.

I think I had one, but agree that it never really held my attention for too long. I used to speed-click through them hah As you can tell, I've always been a patient person.
My, how time flies....

I just opened my last box of Velveeta for a cheeseburger plus if I ration it properly, it will last until my November trip.

Sorry, Phatbeetle,  shouldn't have forgotten your comment.  That's why I subconsciously brought you up
I'll look and see if I can find the actual brand name.  It may be something different.  They certainly sold them in the UK becuase this one has reels from the 50 and 60s and they are from UK towns and stuff.

I was staying somewhere this past weekend that had a Harvester nearby (the only place for breakfast). They had chicken and waffles on the breakfast menu so I gave it a bash. The fried chicken and maple syrup was great, but the waffles were bogging.  They had sugar in the waffles and it was revolting.  Tooooooooooooo sweet.   [smiley=puke.gif]

I also had my first ever KFC in the UK.  Not by choice, only thing open at that hour.  Hmmmm. I don't get the fuss  ???

I was really happy when I got home and made a really veggie filled lentil curry (vegan). Vegetables. Vegetables. Vegetables!

Here's what we had for dinner a few nights back

That sauce is like sugary vinegar, but it's okay if you slather some of this on
