Aaaah, should have guessed.  The back of the bottle makes a big deal out of it just being honey and water that fernents to make alcohol.  I'd imagine there's a lot of cheap mead that is honey water with grain alcohol added.

I should have imagined they used yeast too (although wild yeast would work, just unpredictable)

Okay, reading that article, I approve of a good Greek-style pizza.  I think I've had something that qualifies, and if it's what the description conjured up in my memories, then yes, please.  Don't know or care about the ground beef either way.  You can have it if it means you'll help me eat the pizza.  I just want that crunchy almost-chewy crust and the rich tomatoes of joy.  And some cheese.  Sounds lovely.

(My pizza oven is great for Neapolitan, which, to my husband's mind is the only true kind of pizza, but sometimes I want a proper Chicago deep dish, or I'll have the Greek style you just linked to.)

Oh yeah, I'd be happy with a plain cheese pizza that is Greek style, or pretty with much anything else on it.  It's definitely heaven.

 Local place growing up has taco pizza, with spices ground beef, peppers, onions, jalapenos, tomatoes, lettuce, crushed up taco shells, the two different cheeses, and taco sauce to pour on top.  That's amazing.   Drool. Maybe I want that now.    They also have chicken taco, or Buffalo chicken tender pizza, fajita pizza, BBQ chicken and bacon and ranch, and oh 'Greek' which I remember having feta, tomatoes,and black olives.

I also like a good Chicago deep dish.  A restaurant opened up in my hometown briefly in the early 90s.  The couple who owned it were from Chicago, and since they couldn't get their favourite down in podunk, Arkansas, they made it.  Sadly, they were about two decades too early for the town.  The couple used quality, fresh ingredients, and made everything to order, and that had to be reflected in the price (and slow service... it takes a while to bake a deep dish properly).  The town wasn't ready for real food restaurant prices yet.  It'd be a total hit now based on what I've seen going on back there lately, but in the 90s it was just too expensive for most people.   I was an impoverished university student, and I made room for it in my budget as often as I could, but I was never going to be enough to keep them going.  It broke my heart when they closed.

My husband and his "Neapolitan is the only real pizza!" attitude... *scoff*  I'm going to learn how to make a proper Chicago style, and he's going to help me eat it.  *vow*

I was working at an office up in the penines this week and someone was was eating soup that smelled JUST like an italian sub, OMG, I could absolutely murder a nice oily Italian sub right now 

Raisin Bran for some reason.
Will have to pick up some Sultana Bran and hope it curbs the craving. 

I want decent crab meat so I can make crab cakes.  The crabmeat I bought here looked like it had been pre-chewed.  I want actual big shrimp.

I’m a good cook so I can replicate most of the things I miss.  I do miss grits.  A bowl of grits with a fried egg on top.
