Fourth of July BBQ the whole lot: hotdogs, hamburgers, mac and cheese, baked beans, rice crispy treat, watermelon etc

My manager decided to have a 4th of July bbq... for me. And of course, she can't cook. Lol.

We are expecting around 20 people. I'm going to do hamburgers (my own patties since premade beef burgers are horrible here), beef hot dogs, baked beans, corn pudding, chili, chips with several homemade dips, popcorn, cotton candy, s'mores (already have the graham crackers), key lime pie, peanut butter cookies and whatever else she decides sounds American. Oh, and totally not American... boba. Liquor boba. That I have to homemake. From chemicals like I am a scientist.

I ate half a watermelon yesterday. Couldn't be bothered to cut it up so I stuck it in a bowl and went to town with a spoon.

It really is.  She knows what it is like being the foreign girl (being English in Scotland) and all so she's taken a liking to me.

How was your 4th July BBQ, Tami?

I'm craving bratwurst. I wanted bratwurst and sauerkraut last night, but my husband failed to find them in Tesco, even though I know both things are in there.  I will need to take matters into my own hands.

NCtami72 - your plate reminds me of my Stangl pottery I have in the US.  I'm debating about whether to bring it to the UK.

If you love it, I'd bring it. Familiar things like that can really help you to settle in and feel more at home.  :)
