Bolthouse Farms-style health-drink smoothies?
« on: September 04, 2008, 12:23:55 PM »
In the US at any supermarket, I used to get large bottles of those vitamin-packed ready-made health shakes and smoothies, mainly the Bolthouse Farm brand fruit smoothie type of drink loaded with crazy stuff like 250% rda vitamin C or B12 etc, etc, etc. They were delicious and good for you too. I've looked online and also in a Holland & Barrett store locally, but they have nothing like this.

Does anyone know a place that sells this type of drink? I'm not much one for blending up my own fruit smoothie health drinks, and anyway the vitamin count in these ones would be hard to beat outside of supplement pills (not as delicious!). I'm just on the edge of London and it would be great to hear of any London stores that sell these drinks or something like them -- does anyone know the kind I mean? Many thanks!

I know what you mean, but I haven't seen anything like that here.

I can't remember the brands, but there are similar drinks in the refrigerated juice aisle of most big stores (Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda, etc.). I haven't checked all the nutrition facts on them, but there are some superfoods ones. I think Innocent might have a range of them, but I know I've seen others, too.

I used to love the Bolthouse vanilla chai protein smoothie. So yummy.
Another shameless promotion for www.mclevey.com, the best place on the internet to buy art.

The vanilla chai tea protein was my favorite!!!! Oh how I miss it!
Thanks for the info --- my two local Sainsburys didn't have anything like it but I will double check and also investigate the other stores if I can (bit limited as I don't have transportation to get to the bigger stores not near public transport).

They have "superfood" drinks, but I don't remember seeing any with added vitamins or minerals.

I'm wondering if "superfood" drinks might be the same or a similar thing as the ones that have mega amounts of vitamins, as that name sound suggestive of something fortified?

Wait, just googled and found the "Innocent" product line that jen252 mentioned; this could be close to what I'm looking for.
