I prefer either October 3-5 or November 1-2, but still a chance I could make October 17-19.  I read an article this summer about that Petite Anglaise woman - it's a true story, so I'm interested to read that!  :)

I'm not sure when I'll get there but that book sounds like a good one.  I'll look for a copy and give you a shout when I land in Yorkshire.   :)

I'd be up for this, but not until November - we're moving house between now and October 8th, then I'm heading back to the US from the 12th to the 22nd, then DH's birthday is the 23rd, then halfterm is the last week of October, so....   :-\\\\

Yes, those will all be spin-off groups from the book club...  ;) :P

I think the first weekend in October works better for me, now that I really look at my schedule-DH has the Great North Run the weekend after that and then after that we have to go to my MILs house :)

So how about we say the first Yorkshire book club will take place the first weekend in October, in Harrogate, at one of the restaurants here?  Does that sound like a good idea?

Let me know!

Sounds good to me!  I'd better get to reading.  :)

I was thinking it'd be nice if we could set a regular time for it?  Like say the first weekend (Saturday or Sunday?) of every month...maybe that would be easier to make plans around on a regular basis, if you know what I mean - if everyone knows - right, this is the regular day/time for it?

Hoping we can confirm the exact date/time pretty soon, because I'm in the middle of booking myself for some of the Ilkley Literature Festival events right now - it runs Oct 3-19.  Just don't want to end up with a conflict & I want to come to the book club too!  :)

Or yes, as you say, we could also wait until first weekend in November to start - if that would give everyone more time & ensure we'd have a better turnout?

Can I say that will tentatively work for me?  We're still sorting out our schedule dh's work has played around with him.   :-\\\\

Great!  So, Persephone, did the October date or the November date work for you?

I agree that we should set a date/time and keep it that way so it makes it much easier to schedule.

How many people can come in October and how many people would rather it be in November?

November, please!

I work every other Saturday morning and will be coming from Teesside so mid-afternoon or evening works better than, say, lunch - the earliest I'd be able to get to Leeds, etc. would be around 2-3pm depending on trains.

November definitely!  I probably could do October but that's only two weeks away now & I'm kind of wavering because there might be events I want to schedule for those days at the Ilkley Literature Festival.  :)

Not sure what Andee's schedule is like, but surely June Cleaver would be over here by November?

Alrighty then :)  How about we schedule it for the first weekend of the month?  So that would be November 1st or 2nd.  I think Saturday is a good day to have it unless people would prefer Sunday brunch?

Perhaps Saturday, November 1st, in the evening, around 5 or 6?

If we are doing it in Harrogate, just double check train times just in case.  I think the last train for me is at about 9pm... so just something else to throw in there.
