Kinski Angel was the closest to the book version because he wasn't spectacularly good looking or anything.  He just looked kinda normal. 

That's Peter Firth!  Now to be found on... is it Spooks... sadly without the blonde curls and a bit more portlier than he was in Tess    I loved his Angel.  The one in this new version is too ick for me.... He reminds me of Malachai in Children of the Corn back a hundred years ago in the 80s.....

It's a battle of the Angels! 

  However BBC Tess definitely wins the hair wars.  Don't know about anyone else but I can't get my long brown hair to look like that!!
