I sent my application off to the Chicago British Consulate on the 8th of September, I received confirmation from UPS that the package had been delivered on the 9th of September. Yesterday, Saturday 20th of September I received this e-mail.

Iam applying for a settlement Visa for the second time.
I feel that my application was pretty straight forward, but with reading on this forum it seems everyone is waitning a very long time for Visas to be issued as it is a busy time of year.
My flight to return to the UK is for the 30th of September, I did'nt realize it was going to take so long as my last settlement Visa was issued within 10 working days from the date I filed my application. I realize that I will need to rebook my return flight but I'm not sure when to re-book for as all the different predicted dates are very confusing.
If anyone has any ideas please feel free to let me know.
