Travel Insurance for an American in England
« on: September 25, 2008, 11:21:10 AM »
I'm going on holiday to Spain in two weeks and currently living in England on a work visa. I've been trying to get travel insurance to cover the week I am there, but all the English websites say I have to be a UK citizen and all the American ones i've tried say I have to be departing from the US. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you get insurance?

Any help would be great!

I've been looking into travel insurance for me and my daughter for our visit back to the US. The only information that I have come across is that you have to have resided in the UK for 6 months in the past year prior to the issuance of the policy. No problem for me because I have been here since August last year save 6 weeks when I had to go back to the US to sort out my spousal visa & get married, my daughter won't be quite 6 months old at the time of the policy but doesn't matter cause she was born here in the UK. We checked policies on gocompare.com.
