That was interesting about the sap being soluble in oil. Handy hint: For the same reason, if anyone who can't handle it accidentally burns their mouth with chili or other hot peppers, butter or milk will give much better and quicker relief than plain water.

After getting out of the kennel upon arriving at the corporate apartment, she was almost back to normal right away. Certainly happy to see me. I think it helped that I carried along her litter box, which she immediately made use of.
Following all this stress, she slept almost an entire day (and so did I!) and quite a bit the next ones. Knowing how much she hates carriers, she probably did not stop yowling for the entire trip from SFO to LHR.
When we moved to our own place three months later, she settled in right away. She loves having so much more space, windows, stairs in comparision ot our flat in San Francisco.
Actually, my cat is probably liking our relocation much better than I do!

It will be a week tomorrow, and my cats are settling down a bit.  Bin collection was today - that was a major freak out.

There is a neighborhood cat that has staked out my garden as his territory.    My brave boy Aidan runs at the sight of him, but my baby Mae chases him down and meorws at him.  Knowing her, she's trying to make friends.  Aidy's pride has probably taken a blow.

Still, lots of sleeping.  I'm not sure if the choice of food is sitting well, as the poos are soft and stinky.  The litter box has become a high maintenance nightmare!  Aidan used to go outside, now only ventures out at night.

Got a larger box with a hood from Pets at Home with the bin baggie type liners.  First thing Aidan did was pull the liner into the interior of the box so I can be sure to have to deal with another messy box tomorrow.  :P

They've figured out how to use the cat door!  Yay.   :)

I reckon I just need to be patient and let it play out.

Also, I can't figure out how I'm going to get them to the vet on the bus without it being a major pain in the ars*.

I envy people who have trained their cats to go outside...
...the whole damn thing will turn
and return redefined, rearranged, rearranged...
