Top 10 Songs when you just need to sing out loud
« on: October 01, 2008, 06:43:20 AM »
Sometimes, if it's been a particularly rough day or you're just in a funk, blasting a great tune and singing at the top of your lungs can really relieve the tension.

What are your top 10 songs!?

These obviously change depending on the day & mood so feel free to update whenever you want!

Some of mine -

1: Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon
2: Fleetwood Mac - Silver Springs
3: Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive
4: Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama
5: Kid Rock & Sheryl Crow - Picture
6: Cyndi Lauper - Girl's Just Wanna Have Fun
7: B52s - Love Shack
8: Miranda Lambert - Gunpowder & Lead
9: Gretchen Wilson - When I think about Cheating
10: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.

It's nothing to do with being in a funk or having a rough day, but if this song comes on, i physically MUST sing along VERY LOUDLY!!   ;D

It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry - Glasvegas

There isn't really a TOP 10, but here are some that do it for me!

1 Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer
2 Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come on Eileen
3 The Cure - Love Cats
4 Deadmilkmen - Punk Rock Girl
5 The Beatles - almost anything
6 anything upbeat from Motown
7 Style Council - The Best Thing
8 Christmas music!
9 most things by Bowie

and the mbarrassing one

10 John Denver - Thank God I'm a Country Boy!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Begging your pardon, but as a music whore of the 80's, I cannot let #4 go without correction:  Safety Dance is by Men Without Hats  :)

I'd have to think awhile to come up with 10, but my all time favourite is Backstabber by the Dresden Dolls! (warning: don't click the Youtube music video link if you're sensitive to language, etc...)  ;)

How could you not want to shout out:

Backstabber! Hope grabber!
Greedy little fit haver!
God I feel for you, fool
You s**t lover! Off-brusher!
Jaded, bitter joy crusher!
Failure has made you so cruel

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

- from Anthem, by Leonard Cohen (b 1934)
