Missing food back home.
« on: October 01, 2008, 08:07:20 AM »
Well about 2 years ago I gave up having my friends and family send me stuff from home as I could only think of the odd few items I wanted.

Then I discovered ebay..... and I forgot how much I missed some items...
I just a few minutes ago bought sloppy joe mix...  but I found twinkies, york peppermint paddies, fruity pebbles, captain crunch, hamburger helper etc.....

heck I just found that tesco sells egg nog now!!!! yes.. but its in a small cardboard juice box... the same kind that you get for your kids lunch box.. lol

I tried it... and it was really nice... just told the wife to get more!!!!!

anyway my house is not only full of the normal brittish foods.... but also some of my missed american foods.... I just wish that it was cheaper to buy.... because for a box of cereal it costs around 8£.... which as you can imagine... I only buy when I want the odd treat!

so anyway.. thats my thought... or statement.. lol

I once got a terrible craving for eggnog in August. I found a recipe (had to go to the library; this was before online!) and it really did taste just like the commercial stuff.

I recently found American lemonade (not from concentrate) at farm foods for 5 for £1 (small bottles) and I am in heaven! Going back to stock up today.
