There's a column in the Guardian that does humorous and slightly mean spirited digested versions of books, surprisingly called "Digested Read."  Here's the short version of the book-of-the-series:

Alright, then here's my prediction for Georgia...

What was I thinking?  Stone Mountain.  Probably Stone Mountain, Sherman's March to the Sea, what the Confederacy means in the collective memory of the South today...

But I still stand by Gone with the Wind.  If there's no reference to that I'll eat my hat.[smiley=kid.gif]

I Googled, so I know what he does in Georgia ... but don't worry - I won't spoil the surprise.  ;)

I finally watched the first episode tonight. Poor Maryland. He could have at least driven through Annapolis on his way to Washington DC!  :(

Just started watching and really liking it so far.  He is showing such gorgeous bits of New England!!!  I loved the Ben and Jerry's bit.

Makes me want to see more of my own Country.

Today's episode is worth watching if only for the whisky tasting...and Stephen Fry describing sweet potatoes with marshmallows. ;D

I find him so annoying, even though I liked him in "Blackadder".

I enjoyed this one much more than last week. I thought the people he visited were really interesting.

That was my feeling too.  I really enjoyed tonight's episode.  It didn't feel nearly as rushed as New England with all it's small states to get through.  Good fun.  I like Stephen Fry.

The place with the dead bodies was so fascinating.  It's great that people donate their bodies to research like that.
