Chi_Chi- that happened to me just a couple of months ago- my pants had ripped (no, not bc I was too big for them!) and I was walking around downtown Atlanta in them. I stopped for some lunch. Thank GOD the waiter felt the decency to tell me!! I have no idea how long I was walking around like that either!!

And sorry you're feeling depressed about the separation. Just remember- this is IT. The LAST time you're apart! There's not much longer and you know you can make it through. You've done it how many times before?? :) *hugs*

Brittany- how was the inauguration? I kept looking for you when they showed the crowd. You were the one with the coat on, right? ;)

Jamie- it's all going so fast! It seems like just yesterday you were talking about your move over! Pretty soon you're gonna just be an old married couple with Alan. hehe

Carey- how goes it? Josy- what about you? You around after your girls' weekend? Or have you fallen into pampered bliss?? lol

Man, I wish I could apply today for the Tier 1!! The exchange rate is down to $1.39 or something!! I would definitely meet the financial reqs. Dang it! I know for those of you over there, that's not really great, but strictly on a personal level, I'd be happy to see it stay like that for a while (esp over the summer while I'm visiting!)

Anywho, time for a beer (stella in case you're wondering!) and Biggest Loser! Laterz!

I had fit into an OLD pair of pants that I hadn't been able to wear in years....but when I bent down the crotch blew out in them.  They were REALLY old...lol.

And Chi Chi, I'm sorry you're feeling down lately.  Separation is probably the most difficult thing.  I honestly can say I can't imagine what you're feeling, since everyone feels differently.  But, if you ever need a good vent or someone to listen, in the words of Uncle Jesse "I"m there for ya, babe."

And the dress.....it's hanging on the curtain rod in my room near the foot of my bed, so I wake up every day and go to sleep every night looking at it...lol.  I will have to have alterations done, but not having them done until the beginning of March (so I can TRY and lose a little bit more weight).

And Beth, the exchange rate is good for us Americans, but not so good for the Brits.  Ian and I are sort of flipping out because we're afraid we won't have as much money for our wedding and whatnot.  So now I REALLY can't have a social life or purchase anything until the wedding...lol.  HOPEFULLY it'll start going back up, because the 2:1 it was before was MUCH better than what it is now.

And everyone else, how the heck are ya?  Hope everyone got to watch the inauguration today.  I bawled like a baby when Barack was being sworn in.  Even though I'll probably only be in "Obama Country" for a few months, it's still a great day to be a proud American.

But, I honestly want it to be March already.  Although....next week is the last week of January already!  WOOT!

Alright...going to watch some SATC.  Night, ladies. :D

You know what really sucks? Having no hot water.

We have NO IDEA what the hell happened, but the hot water heater refuses to heat water.  The boiler itself still hold water/fills up with water/dispenses water through the hot pipes/tap....but it doesn't actually do any warming.

So I've bathed the past two mornings by boiling water in the kettle and then pouring it into the sink and adding cold water to make it washing body/hair temperature.

Ugh.

And it probably won't get fixed until next week...and it involves turning off the power to the entire house because the house is so old there's one main switch for the whole house (built in the 1700s).

Oh man, no hot water?? I would die. I have a hard enough time with trying to shower in a freezing cold bathroom while the hot water makes a cloud in the room because it's so cold. (Shaving with goosebumps = not a good idea). I couldn't handle freezing cold water too. I hope that gets fixed quickly!!

Thanks for all of the good thoughts ladies. I'll probably get over it just in time to have to move over there, leave all of my family and everything familiar and adjust again. Or maybe not. I don't know. hahaha. Uncle Jesse. He was hot back in the day man! Even with the mullet.

chi chi I am sorry you aren't having a good time of it...if you need to vent or anything you can Pm me anytime...separation does suck...and it makes it worse if you don't have anything to occupy your time with...like you said there isn't very much to do at work...well the entertaining story about the guy with the split in his pants was good...it made me giggle....

Oh my gosh Jamie are you so excited about your wedding...and Patty you two? Do you have everything planned. I just started getting moving on everything..and I feel overwhelmed and the wedding is in August...so I still have time...but I never realized how much goes into a wedding...

Carey it is a shame you weren't there last year in Feb you could propose...Jason kept bugging me and I finally proposed to him...but I thought it was ok to do since we were already engaged lol

Love the movie What a Girl Wants...I love Colin Firth in his leather pants lol

Beth Masala Zone sounds fabulous to meet up....

Carey are you all ready for your big meet up in Washington with your man?

Becca sorry about the hot water there that kind of sucks...hope they fix it soon...

Oh to answer Patty's question my sis and I had a great weekend...we have our Holiday party this coming Saturday and I needed to get a dress so we went to the outlets down at the beach (it was freezing down in Delaware lol) and I got a sexy dress for $25 that I will be wearing for my hot valentine's date as well hehe....

Proposing after already engaged? Wouldnt that mean that someone already proposed?  ???

I am excited for my trip to DC - I've been super busy at work so thats helped.  Only 15 more days!  Amazing!

Woo for $25 dresses!

Hello all! Hope humpalump day was good for you. Went ok for me, I guess. Just looking forward to it being FRIDAY!!!

Becca- omg!!! That's terrible. Worst time of year for no hot water! I hope it gets fixed ASAP.

Josy- that scene with Colin F in leather was WRONG!!! omg.. I was cringing for him! lolol I may have to find that movie on dvd, too... *sigh* I've got so many new DVDs now!

Patty- I know the exchange rate sucks for Brits right now. Of course, after the 3 times going myself and having 2:1, I'm looking forward to saving a bit of money this time. Really.... dinner for 2 without dessert or appetizers should NOT be $85!!!!!!!!!!!!

Josy, don't forget to post pics of the cute dress! What holiday are you celebrating this weekend, though? "Nearly the end of January already" day?? lol

I'm glad y'all like Masala Zone. It's so delicious. I can't wait to go back there this year. I may make that a weekly routine! lol Esp since the closest indian take away near me just closed down. No wonder since last time I went, the food was horrible- burnt and tasted like crap.

Anyway, back to my Stella and the tv. So nice to relax at home! :)

as soon as I have pics in the cute dress I will post them...we have our Christmas party in January for work because so many people have so many parties before Christmas...but they have to be Politically correct about it and call it a Holiday Party...it is like a wedding reception with dinner dancing and free drinks but the best part is you don't have to bring a present lol

I know the leather pants scene was wrong but I just love it lol

Carey I know I don't make sense sometimes..I was trying to make a funny with the engagement story....hehe

but yay for you and David....

I am going to be applying online at the end of this week for my visitor visa and then we are going to send in the paperwork next week sometime...I am soo excited and nervous all at the same time...

Awww...Josy, I wish you and Jason all the luck in the world during the visa process! :)  Remember, if you need a vent, you know where to find me.  And yes, I wanna see pictures of everything from the sexy dress to your wedding dress still. :P

Beth....*hands you soap* lol

Carey, not long now until you're off to D.C.!  Good thing you ARE busy at work...it helps pass the time faster.

Chi Chi, doing better today?

Brittany, holding up alright?  How WAS the inauguration?  Did you cry like a baby like me?

Becca, hope the hot water comes back REAL soon.  We didn't have hot water for a day over the fall, and I had to shower in cold water....NOT exactly a comfortable feeling.  But I woke up a lot faster that day. lol

Jamie...glad things are coming along nicely.  Now you, Josy, and I can share our wedding plans stories together!

And as for me, well, starting to get a bit of a cold thanks to my co-worker that doesn't know how to cover her mouth/nose OR wash her hands.  She's absolutely a pig.  We started calling her Pig Pen (which I KNOW is wrong, but still) because she reminds us of him.

Wedding plans are o.k., along with starting to get ideas and whatnot together to start packing my stuff.  Got a slight estimate on shipping from UPakWeShip which I would have to discuss with Ian.  Also, since the exchange rate is bad right now (and could get worse), he and I have to decide if we want to cut our dinner guest list back OR just go with the cheapest meal option.  Although, I DID forget about filing my taxes, but that money needs to go towards the visa instead of the dinner.  And we still have to buy our rings....which Ian will hopefully be ordering soon and having them shipped to me.  And I have no clue where or when to start packing and selling off my stuff...lol.  I mean, he and I get married in a little over 2 months...so it's basically crunch time now for everything.  Since Ian still has it in his head that he wants me on a plane the day after I get my visa...lol.

Alright, ladies....hope you all have a wonderful (and yet cold, probably) day!  I'll check in later after work.

Patty.. start selling off now! That way you can use the moolah for the wedding/visa as necessary!

[/putting soap back in] ;)

Oh it's not cold here today. It finally rained last night for the first time in a couple months, but the high is still 78. It's nice actually.

PATTY!! 2 months is going to go by so fast!! Especially with the moving and everything. That's so awesome! I know what you mean though, no matter how many times I've told DH how long the whole name change and visa process is going to take he stilll thinks we'll be applying for the visa in like 2 weeks and I'll be there directly after that. Pffha!!!

Well I am feeling a little better at the moment for today. The hard part is I never know when my mood is just going to change for no reason. I used to struggle badly with depression so I'm trying really hard not to let this get the best of me. But the last two days I've started going running agian after work (since I can't do it in the morning now because it's so dark). So my knees and feet aren't used to it anymore and I don't run a very long distance but at least I feel better for doing it. I'm going to keep that up. This morning DH called to wake me up, so that made me happy, and I'm lookin pretty good today - if I may say so myself  ;) - so I'm doin ok. I have to go in to training for 2 hours this morning  :-\\\\ but that will hopefully make the day go by faster.

Okay... Colin Firth... although the leather scene in What A Girl Wants (and even Mamma Mia) are a bit... strange, it makes me love him even more! I think underneith it all he's a bit of a bad boy  :o

I think I'll probably be the only person living in England that doesn't really like Indian food. I mean, I like it okay, and I can eat it, but I really have a hard time with the curry flavors. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the chutneys served with the pompodoms (sp?) and naan bread though!! I could eat only those for my meal and be happy.

Patty,

When I have stuff to sell, I do a combination of a for sale post through my blog, a post on Craig's List, and if all else fails, it goes on eBay....but I get a lot of bites through Craig's List for things.

Thanks, ladies.

I'm going to start selling stuff in the next few weeks, I know that much.  Just need to go through what I want to take with me, what I want to keep in storage at my Dad's house here, and what I want to sell.

Did you get your hot water back yet though, Becca?

And it's o.k. to think you're looking good today, Chi Chi. :)  Confidence is a good thing!  And you're right, two months will probably fly by.  I'm hoping it will. :)

Anywho, going to relax here for awhile.  My best friend's supposed to give me a ringy ding ding this evening, so I'll just wait for her call and then crawl up to bed.  My cold is rearing it's ugly head this evening (wasn't bad during the day though) and unfortunately, because of my high blood pressure, I can't take any decongestants...bah!

Have a good night, luvs!

Happy Friday Girlies -

I am glad everyone seems to be doing well today.  Thats wonderful about the wedding pics Chi Chi - is it normal for that to take sooo long???

Reading your post made me sick to my stomach, Patty!  Selling stuff, shipping stuff, wedding stuff... aaacckk!  So much to do!!  It made me think of all the things I will have to do if I move and I think I could throw up now.  I own my house, so I guess thats the biggest worry - either sell it or rent it, but either way I have to get it in tip-top shape and that sounds like a HUGE task... Oi.  But, it sounds like you've got it under control - go you!!   (you should buy Pig Pen a surgical mask if she is going to come to work sick!)

Did you start your visa process, Josy?  *happy thoughts coming your way*
