What's a wedding basque? A guy from the Basque country you hire to come to weddings?? (seriously, I have no idea what that is...)

Your well-rounded intelligence amazes me, Alan!

I think with all the stress and extra "stuff" surrounding weddings, I am actually glad to be skipping out on the whole wedding fiasco. If/when we do our thing, the ceremonial things will be quite a while after I have moved to the UK, and I have offically decided I have no desire to have an actual WEDDING. I just want a reception where I get to wear a wedding dress :)

However, that being said, its sounds like you ladies have your respective weddings under control, and I doubt I could be of any help, but I offer my "professional" (used VERY loosely) assistance as an event planner if you do need anything :)

A friend brought a cool book about astrology based on your birthday, not just your sign and there is a section where it gives birthdates of other people who may be your soulmate and MY bday is listed under David's and David's is listed under MINE.  Awww :)
8 more sleeps! Come on time - pass quickly for me!  [smiley=juggle.gif]

Carey- that book sounds very interesting! What does is say under March 5th??? And 8 more days? Not long at all! It will pass quickly. :)

Nothing happening around here... just working and sleeping (a little). Is it Friday yet??

Hope the rest of you are doing well today! :)

Oh my God, I hate snow.  *sighs*

We had about 8" fall today, roads were TERRIBLE.  Took my boss two hours to get to work when normally it only takes him 30-45 minutes.  And we're getting more snow tomorrow. Bah!

Plus, the plow went through the work parking lot, and plowed all our cars in...so before I even left work I had to shovel my car out.

So no planning....no moving...no NOTHING this evening..lol.

And Carey, 8 days will FLY by, hon.  You'll see David before you know it.

Hope everyone else is doing o.k.!  Josy is probably getting the snow that hit Cleveland earlier.  And Brittany, it might eventually hit you.  Sorry!

well when I got up this morning there was snow everywhere and the freezing rain had just started..so I got soaked cleaning off my car...and then when I went home it had warmed up and turned to rain and it wasn't bad till I turned into the driveway...it was terrible and I think my car may be stuck lol...so then the good daughter that I am I shoveled both pathways and practically threw my back out in the process..that snow is heavy and I am soooo done with Winter...so I know exactly what Patty is saying...

I learned something new on here today ...what a Basque is...and that is just what they sold me at David's Bridal to go with my gown...except they didn't give it a fancy name...I am soo happy for you Jamie...and Alan of course you knew what it was...your a man and apparently know all about women's undergarments lol

Carey it is getting close and I am soo excited for you...yeah we should give you our bdays and you should tell us whether our men are our soulmates....maybe that will put an end to my wedding planning if the book says we aren't lol just kidding....

My friend took the book home, so I dont have it here today, but I can ask her to bring it back and do the "soulmate check" on everyone :)

I am wondering if anyone has the magic power to move time ahead exactly one week??  I'd appreciate it if you do!

Carey, I'll work on it for you. ;) I'd just be satisfied with it being 3 1/2 hrs from now. I really am NOT in the mood to tutor for 3 hours tonight. *sigh*

Sorry I haven't been around...I've honestly been freaking out reading all these visitor visa waiver rejection posts and worried that when I try to come back I'll get bounced....since I will probably have stayed in the UK for 5 months by the time I go home.

Oh, and this morning some Irish bloke came round while Tim was still sleeping and knocked on the door and wanted to know if he could have the "scrap metal" in the garden...please note - Tim has a garden railway and 2 motorbikes that aren't working right now, so grass is kinda growing on them.  I told the guy that all the metal out there was for the railway.  The guy said okay and left, but both Tim and his sister said that sometimes those kinds of people come back at night to steal your stuff....so now I'm terrified because Tim is on the overnight tonight and I'm alone until 6AM!

Becca don't panic about your visitor visa. When you are ready to apply or have questions just pm me. I have been refused once and learned from my mistakes and am getting ready to apply again. So don't worry

that is really scary about that guy possibly coming back...does Tim have a lot of crime where he lives?

Carey that is ok just if you get the book back I would be curious

Beth sorry you had to tutor...hope you had a good day

Patty hope you enjoyed the snow....

Nice to hear from you again, Becca!  How are things?  And DID that guy come back?  Hopefully not.

Sounds like everyone is pretty busy right now.  How was tutoring, Beth?  And how is planning going Carey, Josy, and Jamie?

I have no energy to do anything lately...lol.  And no exciting news either since I did nothing but work this week basically.  OH well.

Who has plans for the weekend then?  Anyone?  Let me live vicariously through you right now since I'll be working yet again. :P

Hello everyone!

Tutoring was tutor-tastic. I'm just happy to have the money to put into my savings account! lol In fact I'll be going to the bank after work today with a really nice deposit for my savings. :) I'm pretty excited to only have an 8 hour day today! Yea!! Still several things to do after work (I hate errands!) but at least it's not work, I suppose. Sorry, Patty- no fun plans for me this week since I'll be working, too. Actually despite not being able to go to the Killers concert in town tonight (was sold out ages ago! Wah!!) I'm kind of happy to not have much going on this weekend. Ooh Patty- I just noticed it's nearly less than 2 months till you get married!!! Wow!

Carey- here's the magic words that will make next week come quicker- "this time next week..." :) They always work for me when I want time to pass faster!

Josy- when are you sending off the visa app? Fingers crossed for a quick turn around!

Becca- that sounds positively odd about the stranger asking for the "scraps". I seriously hope he didn't come back!

Chi_chi- you ok? Haven't seen you around in a bit... :)

Ok, gonna try to get ready for work. We have breakfast for the school provided by the foreign language dept this morning. I'm bringing croissants (of course) and need to get there a few minutes early. This is the most exciting thing that happens for us teachers! "Free" breakfast!

Happy Fridays everyone!
