That's kind of weird that they knocked on your door.  Around here they drive up and down the roads screaming through a speaker.....IRON METAL!!! lol it's weird.  But I didn't know people actually knocked on doors be careful!!!

I was all prepared to buy my ticket today for my trip in May and OF COURSE, prices have gone up by over $200 since last night when I checked.   I HATE YOU, PLANE TICKETS!!! WHY MUST YOU RUIN MY PLANS!?!?!

Lets see... Plans for the weekend - I had plans with a friend tonight to go out for a few drinks and she bailed on me to go on a date. Hmph. I am going to help my dad with the ongoing drywall project tomorrow, then Sunday I need to buy a cute dress or something for our fancy date in DC. I have a feeling that might be more stressfull than fun!!  I am SO BORING IT KILLS ME!!

Oh, and this time next week, I'll be attempting to explain pieces of American history to David and probably making most of it up.

Sorry, Carey. I was paranoid that would happen while I waited for my transfer from savings to checking went through when I went to buy my tickets! What about flying through Dublin like I am? It's significantly cheaper. I hope something works out for you, though! Good luck with the dress shopping. That freaked me out a few weeks ago when I had to find something. I suck at dress shopping!

I am having a VERY blue day today.  The Homeowners Association suing thing is still going on and just keeps getting more and more expensive every day, the plane ticket seems out of reach, I feel fat, i've developed these winter allergies that are SO annoying, I'm under tons of pressure at work... AND David doesnt seem to care about any of it.  That British "chin up" attitude really pisses me off! ...he just called and because I wasn't all chippy chipper, he was like "oh you sound like you are busy. I'll let you go.  I'm off to the pub."  WHATEVER.

I so hope everyone is having a better day than me.  Sorry for the negativity...

Thank you Beth - I got an email about that sale today, but Virgin doesnt fly out of Denver, and those prices are for travel between now and March.  Of course..

I'm flying Aer Lingus and if you go to their site, they only fly from other cities (not Atlanta), but when I went through Travelocity, it automatically sets you up on flights out of Atlanta (in my case) that hook up with Aer Lingus. It was not really any more to do it that way either.... Just a thought.

I will look into that Beth.  Thanks.  For my plan to work, I really had to take the non-stop flight from Denver to London because it left at 8:00pm, so I could work that day (the other "latest" flight leaves here at 3:40 or something). So, if I take another flight, I will have to cut my trip a day shorter (so only 4 days in England) because I dont have the vacation time.  Oh well. It was a nice plan while it lasted... at least I can focus on my weekend in DC next week!

Here is my plan to cure my depressive state tonight - Strongbow and Chipolte.  Sounds actually quite gross now that I write it... but somehow soothing. 

Strongbow and chipotle are NEVER gross!! mmmmmmm.... I hope you enjoyed your evening!

And I dislike the "chin up" attitude as well.  We're women, and humans, we can't help the way we feel like, EVER!  Just be supportive of us....not manly AND British all at the same time.  Sheeshie.  Sometimes I think our guys deserve a punch.

Hope today is a bit better though.

I've just spent more hours than I'd care to count reading this thread...I feel like I know you all.  I'm not a Brit (though I am one by descent, and hope to make that official in a few months!), and have no Brit boy (though I would be happy to acquire one   Also willing to consider Irish/Scottish).  I'm tentatively planning on moving overseas (likely England, possibly Ireland) in 2010/2011-ish, depending on how long it takes to get citizenship and what the economy looks like.  (I originally asked my mom about the required paperwork for citizenship over 3 years ago, so it's already been a rather drawnout process!)

Anyway, it's nice to meet everyone...I hope I'm not barging in though I am sans-boy and sans-definite-moving-plan.

I think most people think we're a little strange, so they dont post here, but as Jamie said, all are welcome!  The more the merrier! 

I dont have definite moving plans either, so you're not alone there - you'll probably get there before I do the way things are for me   When were you last in England?  Any idea of where exactly you'd like to move?

Oh, and as a animal rights person here - can you set my mind at ease by telling me that equestrians are super nice to their horses??
