yeah apparently I live as far away from everyone else as possible lol...our town is like yours...the only woolworth closed...we don't have a movie theatre...and nothing in town stays open past 6pm if we want to do go shopping or to the movies we have to go to the next town over...but it is a beautiful place to live and the people are wonderful...it was a big day to get a Subway here in town....lets justs hope it gets to stay around and doesn't close down like everything else..

Jamie - I am glad that your posts sound like you are smiling!  I've been thinking about you  [smiley=hug.gif]

I just read today that in 2020 they will have a highspeed train that goes from London to Birmingham in 30 minutes.  That will help everyone's travels ... in TEN years.... Ugh.

shugga you are a woman after my own heart...ranch and pickles....

my mom is getting ready to ship me a box for Easter with candy and she is going to send me Peanut butter...and ranch packets YAY!!! and she told me to get my list together to tell her what I would like lol...that is such a dangerous prospect...and then I find once I get my package I am very careful with my stuff cause I don't want to run out of it lol

I don't have my treat from Subway that often once a month usually cause it back pedals all my work I do at the gym but I do enjoy my ranch dressing & pickles though. ;D   [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]  I am a peanut butter snob I mainly only like Jif pb & only Smucker's strawberry jam, & Miracle Whip those are the only things I usually make sure I buy several of when Dh & I go to the States.  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

The village we live in is beautiful but it took some getting used to cause I was a city girl an we live in the middle of nowhere lol.

Stuff in Lincoln closes at like, 430.  Except Tesco and ASDA.  It's so weird.  I mean, it's a pretty big city!  (though we do live about 6 miles North of town in a small village called Dunholme)

I know that feeling all to well most things here close by 5pm except Tecos & ASDA's Wisbech isnt a huge town but it isnt a really small town either.

I guess calling Lincoln a city is a little weird, but it has a Cathedral!  That makes it a city!

shugga I think you and I were seperated at birth lol...I only like Jif Peanut butter too...the one good thing about living in this small town is it is built on the side of a hill and I have to walk everywhere...so in one day I could walk 2-3 hours or more...so I don't go to the gym...and because I walk all the time I can have treats once in awhile too lol...but there are plusses to living in this town..I get to be with my soulmate, I am forced to excercise daily, it is beautiful here and the people are great...and I have made so many friends on UK Yankee that help keep me sane lol

I remember having a very drunk very long conversation with one of David's friends about what makes something a town, village, or city and I am still confused.  I call everything a "city" and get laughed at.  Hmph.  Where David lives, I have no idea where one town/village stops and another begins, so I know there is an M&S and a HUGE Tesco nearby, but no clue what town/village it belongs to.
Clearly, I need to do some exploring to understand what is a "small town" and what is "normal".

Ugh I suddenly feel very overwhelmed, ill-prepared and uneducated.  I'm going to be such a crap ex-pat!!!

I have lived in the UK for nearly 5 years I couldn't tell you the difference from a village, a town, & a city no matter how many times I have been told the difference I still don't know.  ::)  :P

You have 1 up on me I dont drive & I dont have any desire to drive people here in the UK scare me so I will stick with being a passenger besides I'm with Dh 90% anyways so there is no need for me to learn to drive. also Dh Dh said I could either learn to drive or I can go to the States every  12 -18 months I jumped at the trip home instantly.  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
