ew, I don't think I'll drive there. I'm terrified of it. Besides that, we won't be able to afford a car over there for a long time, so there's really no logic in getting my license (except that if I want to get it in the future I'll be considered as a new driver). Think I'll stick with public transportation.

And I have not clue about the towns, cities, villages, etc. My FIL works for a town council and always chuckles at me when I use the wrong term. Oh what a sweet, inocent little American girl!  [smiley=puke.gif] I hate feeling like a child sometimes in the UK when I am a grown, self-sufficient woman.

shugga I think you and I were seperated at birth lol...I only like Jif Peanut butter too...the one good thing about living in this small town is it is built on the side of a hill and I have to walk everywhere...so in one day I could walk 2-3 hours or more...so I don't go to the gym...and because I walk all the time I can have treats once in awhile too lol...but there are plusses to living in this town..I get to be with my soulmate, I am forced to excercise daily, it is beautiful here and the people are great...and I have made so many friends on UK Yankee that help keep me sane lol

Well Josy if you don't like coffee, hot tea, or eggs we probably were separted at birth if do like them then we have a problem lol  :D  cause I don't like any those I will eat eggs if there isnt anything else to eat.   ;)

Well, for our knowledge, here is a list of Cities in England.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_the_United_Kingdom

It is not as easy as "does it have a cathedral?", sadly.

It  would appear that there are no cities in Surrey, so that will help me.  Everything is a village or a town. That narrows it down :)

Hehe I have no idea, I was just told if it's got a cathedral, it's a city.

Oh my ladies. I've been cooking and freezing leftovers forever for Tim so when I leave he still has my good cooking....I made a master list for him today, and there's 21 meals on it already! :D  I leave in two weeks, so there will at least be 7 more meals added (sometimes there's just no leftovers from a meal) before I go! That's a month of meals, basically!

I feel so happy that I can leave him with a well-stocked freezer!  He used to eat nothing but those chicken lattice pie things and his family thinks he's been losing weight since i've been cooking for him! :D

chi: that's so exciting that you'll be headed over soon!

jamie: hope that you're doing well and get everything sorted with nhs in a timely manner.  sorry to hear about that :(

my eye FINALLY recovered and stopped swelling.  definitely think it was a response to stress--figuring out all the specifics of my move in july combined with a stressful roommate situation and my mom being really upset over my move seems to be taking a toll on my body.

on a better front, however, i just heard from my boyfriend and apparently last night he told his parents that he wanted to propose to me before i moved over and he said they were thrilled!!  very, very exciting!!

congrats lily. He told you he was going to propose? So I'm guessing it's no surprise and you've already talked about it before then?

yes, well, the trouble with planning my move over there is that we've had to discuss this at length and it does take the surprise out a bit...i didn't want to quit my job and make the move over there unless we were looking at the long-term and in order to pick a target move date, we sort of had to discuss when an engagement would happen.  i'm pretty sure he will propose during his visit in may, though we have discussed waiting until after i move too, so i guess i will be somewhat in the dark as to when...  it actually feels really good to know, i must say!

OH!! I totally forgot!! The Holiday was on TBS Saturday night and watched the last half of it and thought of you all.

Also, Beth, my flight on the 31st has a layover in Atlanta, so I'll be thinking of you! :)

Jamie!  It's so good to see you've returned to us!  It's good to see you in somewhat-good spirits.  I'm so sorry you're getting all that grief about getting your baby back.  I hope things work themselves out for you soon.

Becca, i LOVE cooking for my boyfriend when we're together.  His stepmother is The Worst Cook Ever (I PROMISE) and completely opposed to any type of spice or condiment(picture boiled soggy broccoli, tough unrecognizable meat, and a plain, boiled spud every night of the week). I was SO WORRIED at first because he tends to be a picky eater, but I get a lot of gratification when I can introduce him to new foods that he likes.  And I'm sure he'll appreciate being able to think of you ever when you've gone back to the States.

Josy, I wouldn't be too worried about your Woolworth closing.  Apparently they all have.  They went out of business a bit after Christmas. My boyfriend was devastated.   ::)

I watched the Holday last night on TBS!  I think I'm growing cynical though.  All the way through it I just kept thinking "NO WAY! She's probably overstaying her visa! You can't just DO that!" Ugh. Cameron's perkiness was a bit much for me to take yesterday, too.

Wow ladies, lots of drinking going on this weekend! I don't know if that's really good or really bad?! haha  I woke up this morning STILL nauseous.  But I think I'm finally better now that I've spent the day walking to classes in the fresh air and stuff.  That was a rough two days... haha

We've managed to add quite a few pages to this thread in a small amount of time...it took quite a while for me to catch up!

Wow...you ladies sure were busy today while SOME of us worked and had no internet access...lol.

Good to see you're all doing well, btw.  Discussions of meeting up and whatnot seems wonderful.

And just so you all know, Jamie, Alan, Ian and I are going to be known as "The Travel Couples" lol.  Then I know I'm doing a Beatles thing with Beth in London this summer, and then Carey, David, Ian and I are supposed to be meeting up in Brighton (I HOPE!) so HOPEFULLY we'll all get to meet up a.s.a.p. :)

So yeah, just wanted to check in real quick.  I have a bunch of cleaning to do tonight.  Ian gets here on Thursday.  And I think my heart almost exploded out of my chest when I typed that.  AHHH!!!!

Thanks, ladies, for being so incredibly amazing.  HOPEFULLY I'll be around before Thursday.  If not, I'll definitely post on Friday and let you know if Ian made it or not.  We're supposed to go to the probate court and get our marriage license.  Woot!

I'm sure he will too. He was funny today. I asked him if he could do me a favour and put away the clean dishes because I cooked a roast this evening and I had a lot to do for it and he didn't know where half the things went.  He told me it's my kitchen now, not his.  LOL.

Sisterhood of the traveling....couples?  LOL. Hey wait a minute, I want in on this traveling! :D  Don't forget me and Tim!
