I was at work all day trying to collect money from the residents for this KFC luncheon we're doing tomorrow...bah.

And then tonight I had my final wedding dress fitting.....

....btw...my nerves are going CRAZY right now.

The IO BETTER let Ian in tomorrow.  If he doesn't get in, I will probably collapse into this depressive state and fetal position.

So now I'm going to try and go to bed.  lol

Eeeee, I'm getting excited for you :P I always get all jittery before Steve flies in, and I can't never sleep the night before, so I end up taking Tylenol PMs to help me calm down  :-\\\\

No worries, Ian will totally get through immigration just fine (I have to resist the urge to write 'Iain', it's my soon-to-be stepson's name), and then I get to be jealous of you :)

Goodness....I'm surprised I got ANY sleep last night.

How are all you ladies doing?  I know we're all busy busy busy at the moment.

So Ian's in the air right now.....he left Heathrow about an hour ago.

I'm going to be a mess all day today.  IF I don't hear anything from him by the time I leave work, he said "Just assume they're shipping me back..."

*sighs*

Gotta try to keep it together today.

YAY Patty!! I can't wait to hear the Ian got in and all is well. You guys will have so much fun! You're getting married!!! Crazy!! I know exactly what those nerves are like and they will pass.

You ladies inspire me. I'm getting nervous about what it will be like when I move there. Sometimes I am very excited and happy. Then there are times like this morning when DH calls me at 6:00 am to wake me up (I am NOT a morning person) that I feel like I'll just be miserable and want to be back in my old room and I'll miss my home. I hope that I can still want to jump DH every time he comes in the door! :) I get into a shut-down-my-emotins-mode when we're apart and it always takes adjustment to get back into the swing of things. That and being in an LDR for as long as we have and going through as much as we have has made me MUCH less of a sap than I used to be. :) Time will only tell. Is that sad? or even normal?

Chi - my experience has been that when I am apart from David for periods of time, I also try to "harden" myself or "shut down" as you say.  There have even been times when I am going to the airport asking myself "what am I doing!? Is this even worth all of this? Is HE worth all of this?", but for me, its instantaneous - as soon as I see him I'm sure again.  Does that make any sense?  I dont think there is such a thing as "normal" in an LDR since everyone is different and everyone's circumstances are different.  But I do think it is to be expected for you to worry about adjusting and your new reality living up to what you have dreamt about for so long.

Now.. omg Patty!  The day is here!!  I am thinking happy happy thoughts than Ian doesnt freak out and make the IO suspicious of anything that doesnt even exist!  Give us an update when you can!!

2 weeks from today I will be in Patty's shoes.  Woooo!

Good luck Patty! So exciting!

Chi: Good luck these next few days as you prepare to leave.  Hope it all goes smoothly!  I understand what you mean about going between nervous and excited!

I've been a bundle of emotions these last few days as I've begun to make preparations for my move.  I had someone come to my house today to give me an estimate on shipping my belongings to the UK.  Eeek.  This is really happening!  I'm so so so happy and can't wait...but definitely nervous for all that is ahead!

lol

That's great, it made my day kinda :P I feel that way when Steve gets in, when he comes to visit in May it'll have been about 4 months or so, and I'm usually bouncing off the walls when he's flying in. The day of the arrival is usually so full of me trying to clean house and get ready, all so I don't sit and get impatient.

And he'll get through fine, I just remind myself when Steve comes through that he can't turn his phone on while in passport control, and Newark is notoriously bad about getting bags out in a timely manner. So, if there is a delay it's usually just because phones can't be on while everyone's growing mold in passport control, nothing else, it'll be great :)

Thanks Carey! Good to know I'm not the only one that gets like that. But you're right. After I get over the initial shock of being back together again and realize that he is real and not a figment of my immagination, I wouldn't trade it for anything. And at least this is the last time! :)

chi I promise you when all is said and done and you are home with your husband finally you will want to jump him when he comes thru the door and you will forget all the hardships you had to get thru to get there...Jamie and I talked about that the other day...all the stress and problems we had with our men over the distance and trying to get the visas...I realize I don't even think about that anymore becuase I am home with him..and that is where I should be...and I believe you will probably feel like that once you get over there...once you realize that this time you don't have to leave him again or he doesn't have to leave you it will make things a lot easier...

Patty I hope Ian made it and I hope you got a good woohooo!!!! last night

Beth how are you feeling? what is going on with you lady?

Carey and kittenfish and shugga how is it going?

All the other ladies in here what is new?
