Wow!  Awesome job.  Have a wonderful time in Iran (not something I have ever said before...) :)

Thank you!  And have a wonderful time with your guy!  I remember that single-digit excitement very well.  ;D

I'm a tour manager.  I go on holidays with goups of (mostly older) American travelers and make sure things go smoothly for them.  It's a cool job because I get to travel, but it's really hard work, too...a lot of silly questions and not much rest!  I speak Russian, which helps me in the countries of the former Soviet Union, but not so much in Iran, which is where I'm going tomorrow - first tour of the season!

You have my dream job! I would so love to do that!! Have been told I would be good at it as well. I did go and help with my ex boss on an escorted cruise once! I am an extravel agent

I do love it, but I'm not kidding about how difficult it can be at times.  People pay serious $$$ for these holidays and they can get very uptight about all the details being exactly right.  Most people are pretty cool, though, and they send a bunch of positive energy through the group to drown out the bad apples.  Those are the people I (quietly) rely on to make things easier for me! ;)

Hey I know! The most expensive holiday/cruise I ever did was for 165,799 gbp's for a world cruise on the QM2 for a man and his family. He was doing the whole world and his 2 daughters and their family and his son and his family..were meeting him on the cruise at various ports of call and each doing a 2 week cruise with him and his wife......that was nerve wracking!
Hope you have a safe and fun time!

*hugs*

The week before I left I would do that when Steve got home from work, and I'd sit there and remind myself that in a week I wouldn't be able to be there *right* when he walked in the door, and I wouldn't have a cup of tea waiting for him. It just plain sucks :( And it is a weird position for us, where you'd be perfectly happy to live together but you can't  :-[ At first I wasn't really sure when me and Steve would get married, but we both realized it was what we wanted anyway, and it would end up getting us closer together in the long run--he was planning on coming to the US in May for my birthday, so we just figured it'd be a good time to tie the knot. Not a lot of real deliberate thought put into the date, definitely not as much as the decision to get married in the first place.

Just curious...are you planning to do a small wedding/reception?  I am in the throws of wedding planning and would have loved to do something sooner than November, but that is looking like the date we are going to get married.  Initially I wanted something small, but it's turning into something big(ger).  Thinking about waiting until November is killing me, but at the same time it gives me time to prepare for the wedding, visas, move etc and we can budget for it better.

I'm personally not going to do much of anything, hence why it was easy to squeeze it into a two week period that was going to be a holiday to begin with :P I'm a very low-key person, and I don't really have a ton of family anyway, so I figured the easiest route would be to do a courthouse wedding, then go out and have a nice dinner or something with the family that can show up. We'll prolly have something bigger in the UK once I get my spousal visa sorted, but I haven't planned on anything on this end.

It's good to have something to focus on besides the visa though, especially a wedding--it keeps you from going absolutely insane thinking about a visa :)

It certainly helps keep my mind off the visas, but I just want to jump to November now! :)

Initially we thought about June, b/c DF will be here for 10 days in June on business, but after talking it over with DF he really wanted to do a full blown ceremony/reception...I warned him that my family is large, being that I am Italian!  We are up to 100 on the list now and that's not including everyone! :o  Oh well, I suppose I waited this long to marry (I'm 36) that I should do it with a BANG! :)

I will be thinking about you (an being envious) in June when you get married and wishing it was me.

Hehe, yeah I definitely don't have a family like that :) And my fiance's family isn't flying out here, so it's only a handful of people I have to worry about anyway. His first wedding was in a courthouse as well, so he's used to it and would rather work out a way for us to get away for a couple days for a mini honeymoon while he's here than to worry about my family :P

And I've been jealous of the people who have gotten married and gotten their visas lately, pretty soon it'll be your turn and other people will be envious of you getting married, etc :)

A lot of people seem to think after I'm back in the US, Tim will tell me he's ready to get married. We'll see.  He's got a scheduled visit to me in July though! ;)

Hello!  Good to see everyone is doing all right....and welcome to the "new comers" :p

Soooo....I'm exhausted, but wanted to post a photo before I headed up to bed with my new hubby (WOO HOO!).

OH!  And I filled out the online application for the spousal visa today.  My biometrics is on Monday, then we'll be sending the stuff to the courier.  Woot!  Wanted to do the biometrics sooner, buuuttt......I have work Thurs. and Friday and can't get out for an appointment, so the earliest was Monday.  HOPEFULLY it'll be approved in time so I can go back with Ian.

And Chi!  Hope you made it to England all right!!!

Also, not long now, Carey!!!  xxxxx

You never know, there's one thing I've learned with Steve is never to underestimate what surprises he can pull out of his proverbial hat. British men can be full of surprises sometimes :P

upload the photo to a photo hosting site, like photobucket, then write your post and click the Insert Image icon.  (second one from the left on the bottom row of buttons) and paste the photo URL in between the URL code :)
