*zooms in*

Helllllooooooo, ladies!!!

I have been following the haps while I was away.  Ian and I went out to Chicago to hand deliver my monsterous spousal visa binder to the courier, and then honeymooned for a few days.  Weather was absolutely LOVELY out there.  We had a really good time (except for the fact that we have CRAZY blisters on our feet from walking everywhere....and staying in the most ghetto hotel room we've ever experienced...and yes, Carey, we got out of that HoJo...lol).

Soooooo..........I have good news.  MY SPOUSAL VISA WAS APPROVED!!!!

Ian and I were JUST about to leave Chicago yesterday when I got a call from the courier asking if we were still in the area.  We both broke down crying, Ian held me while repeating "You're coming home.  You're coming home!"  People must've thought we were nuts!

Now we have a little less than a week to pack all my things, see people, etc.  So, I'll try to be on here as MUCH as possible.  I just have you ladies to thank for helping me get through everything.  I don't know how I would've done it without you all.  *HUGE hugs all around*

And Carey, just so you know, Ian and I REALLY want to be out there with you and David today.  *hugs*

Soooooooo.....yeah.  *sighs and smiles*

Better go throw some more coffee down my throat here.  Ian is still sleeping and I may do just a LITTLE bit of packing before he wakes up (just a box of pictures and whatnot that I've started).  So I shall catch up with you ladies a little later. And, if I don't get a chance to, PLEASE everyone have a beautiful Easter!   xx

Becca is that an engagement ring lol...I couldn't help and had to ask...

Thanks, Josy, now I'm bald :P:P

I'm listening to Radio 2 on the iPlayer streaming live...somehow it makes me feel a lot closer to Tim knowing that I'm listening to the same station we have the car radio set to, even if he's watching football with his dad and brother.  (which I love them for inviting him over....Tim's NOT a football person, but Ben told me they'd take care of Tim for me :))

I read your post in the Visas thread before here, but OMG anyway, yays! And here I thought I was jealous of you before :P It sounds like you had an awesome honeymoon, and enjoy all the chaos that comes with moving--and congrats, it seems like you've gotten through the worst of it so far :)

Sometimes I listen to Northants96, that's Steve's favorite station, he listens to Jagger and Woody every morning on the way in to work :) It makes me feel like I'm back in England, until something comes along and has some American accent on it, that kills the mood  :P

thanks for the ring feedback!  i keep measuring my finger at home and it seems like it should be 5.5 when i'm doing it, but when i went into the store, the lady was adamant that i wanted 4.5... maybe i should compromise and go with 5.  it doesn't help that i NEVER wear rings and am not sure what is a good fit.

patty, congrats on the spousal visa and good luck with your move!!

am about half an hour away from starting my weekend early...need to get a ton of work done and try to continue sorting through all of my belongings in an early attempt to pack for the move (i have several months to go yet but am overwhelmed at all that i have to get through).  i'm still feeling the remnants of my tonsil infection so hopefully another night of rest will take care of that.  i just remembered today that i have a childhood friend who is currently teaching in china will be in town and wants to get together tomorrow night.  it looks like she'll be moving to the UK in august to begin a phd program, which i'm super excited about!!  we'll be a 2 hour train ride from each other!

have a great easter, everyone!

Patty, congrats on the visa!

I'm anxious for my paycheck to show up so that I can pay the British Embassy to process my citizenship application.

Other than that, my life has consisted of work and various illnesses...our original office plague mutated, so I got it *again*, and then I got the stomach flu version of it as well this week.  So that was completely awesome...

Oh, and if anyone hasn't heard of it, Airfare Watchdog is awesome...it alerts you to weekly sale prices on flights to/from anywhere you specify.  Even though I'm not planning on heading to the UK until this fall for a visit, it's e-mailing me with some awesome deals (< $500 round-trip flights, even in peak travel season).  http://www.airfarewatchdog.com/ if anyone's interested.

Happy easter, everyone!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeehoooooooooo Patty!! Incredible!! ;D

So I'm back from outer space. Had a visitor here for 2 weeks which kept me away from the interwebs. We had a great time in Memphis and Nashville (who knew a honky tonk bar could be so much fun??) It was sad to say bye yesterday and even more disheartening to know I have to go back to work on Monday. Booooo! I've got lots to catch up on around the house, too.

Now begins the true countdown to my trip this summer. Just need to get through the rest of the school year. I hope I'm busy enough to speed through it.

Looks like everyone is doing relatively well (some especially so!!) Have a great weekend and Happy Easter if you celebrate it! :)

Since landing back in the US on Monday, Tim and I have barely gotten half hour phone calls.

This sucks so badly.

Is it wrong that I'm annoyed with him he got off the phone with me to go walk the dog with his mum?  What the heck was wrong with telling his mum he was talking to me and would see her later?  :(

aww, i felt this way after david first moved away.  we struggled with the time difference because his brother kept inviting him to go out after work and by the time he'd get in, it would be time for him to go to bed.  i started to resent how much time he was spending with his brother because it kept taking time away from us being able to talk on skype...but i also didn't want to keep him from getting out and exploring his new town and making new friends.   it's so tough to try to balance 'real life' with long-distance relationship time, but it gets easier as time goes on.

equestriannerd: thanks for the airfare tip!
