and us drinking beer too!  DUH!
Anyone been to Northampton?  Thats like halfway for both of us.  We can stir up some trouble there, probably.  What kind of accent do they have there? :)

The stupid sun is coming out and is going to melt all of our snow!! :(

I want to go watch shopping now - I got myself all excited. I love to buy gifts!

interesting how Alan decided to comment on the whole shopping thread...hmmmm maybe he is a secret shop o holic....hehehe Jaime will be able to tell us

well the mall I went to in Plymouth was only 2 floors and I don't really consider it a mall...you haven't seen mall till you come to Pennsylvania to King of Prussia...it is the 2nd largest mall in america...400 stores and counting...and it is only 10 minutes from my house hehehe

I've been there! I came to Philly last year for the half marathon (actually almost exactly one year ago today!) and went out to King of Prussia mall! It's big! But I've been to Mall of America in Minneapolis several times, so it's not THAT big! ;)

I dont know Jamie. I have no idea where to buy a man's watch actually. I will end up purchasing it online most likely, but would like to see it and touch it somewhere first.

Back to the mall thing - I am really not a fan of malls, and the idea of the Mall of America makes me cringe! - I prefer what I, as an American, would call a shopping center (lots of stores lining streets, but not all in one building).  I think thats the semantic difference in American English.  I guess we also call them "open air malls", but whatever.

I'd be on Alan's side of the street - I prefer the pub to shopping :)

I'll admit I'm not a huge shopper but I have a serious thing for a fabulous pair of high heels...

I like open air malls too much better than malls for sure!!

Is it just me or has this thread strayed from "I watch too many romantic movies!" ?

...and is it just me or was it shopping that took you (ladies) soooo far from the topic?

...and from the last couple of posts I have definately noticed that the retail fix \ high has wained and the pub is now the focus of attention...?  ;D

Note: Jamie does look fantastic in heels, so there is scope for negotiation  ;)

Yes, it seems to have strayed.  Now, its just a thread where we can gab without the grouchy people taking the piss out of us.

Now I want to pout that I want a reason to get dressed up!  I never get to get dressed up!  I want to wear a fancy dress and force David into a tux or something (this is beginning to sound like a wedding, but that really wasnt where I was going).  I just want a fancy party and then I want that movie moment where we are on opposite sides of the room and I catch him looking at me b/c I look super hot in my fancy dress.  Have I really lost it now???

ALB, all I want is to go to a real pub right now. Sadly I'm still stuck at school in class with students so that is not possible. I also have to go to work until 7pm tonight. No pub for Beth. :(

Shaun of the dead is Jamie's favourite film she tells me? One of the reasons is she likens Shaun and Ed to me and my friend John... When all lifes problems can be sorted out by a night in the pub! Indeed if the contributers and readers of this thread ever get the chance to sit in the 'Winchester' or any actual pub in England I'm sure most problems would be sorted out before last orders...

I now love the film too

Not sure how "romantic" the movie is considered but I watched it because she said it reminded her of me?

Having never seen Shaun of the Dead, I am not sure of its romantic-ness, but I would venture to guess it is not!

David and I have hashed out some serious stuff in pubs before, so I think you're onto  something there, Alan.  Now if only I could convince my boss to hold meetings in pubs...

Mirra- you can get Strongbow here in the states! At least in my state...

And speaking of, I actually went to Whole Foods tonight to treat myself to some nice bread (to go with my homemade potato leek soup) and found a Cotes du Rhone red wine! That will work............ ;)
