Thank you....I was worried about the time constraint but your right no reason to lie to customs people.
I was just worried because DFW is HUGE and if you have to go all the way out, wait for your bag and then re-check in ect...seems like that would be a TIGHT squeeze.

Thanks for calming these nerves

Unless he's taking a separate flight (as in different airline/booked separately) he won't have to leave security and re-check in. They'll lead him from the plane to passport control. After that, he'll go to special baggage claim right there in customs. He'll likely just past through the customs with maybe a question or two about if he packed his bag himself, blah blah blah, then he'll re-check the bags right there. It's usually pretty painless, as long as there aren't a ton of flights coming in all at the same time. He should have plenty of time to get through all that, then figure out his way to the next leg. :)

Sarah - that is pretty bada** to carry a guitar on a place - I would be afriad it broke but I guess checking it would be worse.

Beth - aww thanks too! yes it's ALL AA flights - period.  We did that on purpose so in case anything went wrong it was not some other airlines saying "not our fault". Sooo good he doesn't have to get out of DFW and back into DFW <phew> I can try and calm down now - well a little anyway.  I haven't quite started pacing yet that will be after NEXT weekend.  Already planning the trip there in Sept - woohoo!

Hope you all are having a great week!

Beth's post reminded me (thanks Beth!) of my experience at DFW in April with AA travelling back from the UK.  We all went through the line at customs to gain entry into the US, and then after customs went to a special area where we moved our bags from one conveyor belt to another (well a big strong Texan picked mine up for lil' ole me).  It was a pretty quick process for me as I recall, but I can look back at my records for layover times if you're still edgy. ;D

Hi ladies,
I am just checking in. I was in the states for 2 weeks. To do stuff for my wedding in August and to be a maid of honor in my friends wedding. Jason came out the 2nd week and came to the wedding with me...we had a great time and we also picked out our wedding cake..I am sooo excited...it was nice to get back and see my family and stuff...I will be here in the UK till the end of July then home for the whole month of August we get married on the 29th and then hopefully shortly after that I will have my marriage visa and be living over here in the UK permanently....I made it through Immigration with no problem this time. I was a little worried cause it was my first time back through Bristol after my refusal last year...but I have my visitor visa so they only asked a few questions...now I have to start gathering my info for my marriage visa. Patty has been kind enough to help me if I need it...and guess what? I am having my 2nd annual 4th of July party here in Brixham this year and Jamie and Alan and Patty and Ian are coming...so we will have 3 Americans at this party..I invited Beth since she is up in London but she will be running a race that day...so maybe by next year some more of you will be over here and then I can invite you as well..and we will make it a big 4th of July party...

I hope everyone is doing well...anything new and exciting? Hi and welcome to all the new ladies on the thread...

Let me know. We have the time set as 4pm-11pm, but people are welcome anytime.  Oh, and anyone else who wants to drive to Lancaster, PA is more than welcome :)

Tim will be here 16 July - 8 August though, so maybe we can meet up while he's here :)

I'm not a lady :D But my girl Diana is the US part of this relationship, and yes, last time we parted at Heathrow, I definately wanted to go grab bher and bring her back....sigh..

But she is back for a whole 6 weeks on the 17th on July! :D

Excited already.

But, our situation is a little complicated, we are both going through divorces...(not caused by our relationship I hasten to add, just we met online after separating)

:D

How did you and Diana meet? We love to hear everyones story...where in the UK are you? I am sooo happy that she is coming over to be with you...

the airports can be the best and the worst..the best when you are coming to meet them and the worst when you have to say goodbye...

Becca thanks for the invite I will let you know when I am home if I can meet up with you guys...

Hello, to all!  How are things going?

Haven't been here in awhile, I know.

Buuuttt...wanted to check in.

And Josy, can't WAIT to come to your place in less than two weeks!  WOO HOO! :)

It'll be nice hanging out with you, Jamie, our men, and your friends.  Good change of pace from the day to day life of Romsey. :)  And remember, I'll give you a call this week.  Probably Wednesday or Thursday.

Carey, have you applied for your visa yet?

Tomorrow makes it three weeks! Yay!

In addition to a trip to DC, we're going to go on a daytrip to NYC, take the train into Philly at least twice, and go on an overnighter to NE PA mid-week.

I'm so excited!

Nah, all Tim wants to do is go see Grand Central Station and the MTA museum. He's not a broadway person, or into shopping, or art museums, and he wouldn't go to the top of the empire state building anyway (he's afraid of heights).

I was born in NYC and used to go up all the time, so there's nothing I really want to see, so it's all whatever he wants to do.

I'm with you, camping and I are NOT friends.  But, I'm sure you'll have a great time!  ;)

And, I LOVE Melting Pot.  Mmmm I wish it were in my tummy right now!
