I'm going to have one now.  ;)

LOL, cheers hun, I know I certainly could use one right now :P I don't know why I'm particularly nervous about my biometrics, except that I'm going to hand over my baby to the UPS afterward to get to the courier. And then I wait. Oh yay.

I'll be thinking about how awesome you guys are while I'm out, it should keep me from puking from nerves :-[

Thanks guys :) I'm sure I'll do the crying bit, I have a tendency not to show my excitement as much as my relief. Just because I don't pull a princesslemons and start screaming (you know I <3 you really hun), doesn't mean I don't have a little party going on in my head. But the crying will probably be more likely, since it'll be such a relief.

And yeah, I'm sure you guys don't mind having drinks on my behalf...really :P

Hahaha. I <3 you too!

But really, I called Vincent and screamed it down the phone. And he couldn't make out what I was saying. I had to say it like 3 times. lol. And then he went "OMG REALLY????" He later told me only dogs could hear me. ;D

I'll probably be screaming and calling everyone I know when my app comes through, too.  Plus filling out passport paperwork and sending off my CV to jobs left and right...hopefully another 1-5 weeks of waiting left, assuming the original turnaround time of 1-2 months still holds true.

No dice today on the horse front, which is not really surprising.  (It's all such a crapshoot.)  What is surprising/frustrating is that apparently the one woman (of the 2 who came to see him today) who is actually looking for a horse to buy is a total rank beginner, which begs the question - what business do you have buying a horse?  Let alone looking at MY horse, who happens to be equivalent to a Border Collie - very smart, very friendly, very energetic, and needs experienced handling not to ruin your life. ;)  Actually, he's remarkably mellow and laid-back, but if you're on his back, he expects to be doing something or going somewhere...otherwise you should be kind enough to get off him already and let him get back to the all-consuming task of eating, napping, and pooping. ;)

So...that was a drag, since while I know it's hard to find the right horse (having gone through very long searches myself in the past), it's ridiculously simple to rule horses out for various reasons...and not knowing what on earth you're doing on a horse would be a very good reason to rule out 99% of the horses out there. ;)

Anyway...TGIF!

Poor Vincent, what a wake-up call :P But I remember that, it was on the 19th since it was right before I was going to go pick up Steve from the airport and you left a bunch of stuff on my MSN. I think I might have even heard you screaming from the West Coast.

equestrianerd, I hope you hear back soon, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for your app :)

So, everything's handed off to the UPS with tracking numbers and signature requirements in tow. I've emailed the courier to let her know it's guaranteed to be there by 3.00pm Monday, and now I just have to wait, really. The biometrics were incredibly easy to get to, just a boring as crap building, and it took them a few tries to get decent prints off of me  :-\\\\ But it got signed off, and sent off, and it's weird not having it here on my desk. I've had it for far too long now I think--my mom kept telling me today that it'd be fine, and my husband says it's fine too, but I'm a nervous git anyway :(

Lol, I don't doubt it.

It's useless to tell you not to worry. We all know how well I followed that advice myself. ;) But I know that your app is fine. You were too OCD for it not to be. :P

ohhh kittenfish - how exciting! Today by 3pm - I am sure I would be pacing and waiting and pacing and waiting - ok I would probable clean as that is what I do to keep busy (sad huh)

equestrianerd - What kind of horse is it - My aunt boards and has a couple horses and travels all over doing hoof trimming as she believes in no shoes way.  She has lots of contacts I would be happy to put you in touch - They are in Jersey FYI (South Jersey)..

On another note - I am cleaning a fiend right now as I can't sit still...4 more nights till the BF is here! <happy dance>  Gosh its amazing how the days can creep by yet fly at the same time!
Beth and Sarah - I told him about the customs thing and we can only hope we have good enough karma to make this the smoothest trip ever! We did figure days I am going there and its Sept 11th-27th so yippee for that.  Already another time to look forward too.

Ok well I guess I should try to work - Happy Monday to you all!

He's a 16.3h 10yo Thoroughbred gelding, did a brief stint on the racetrack and a few years of foxhunting, and is now trained as an eventer.  He's super brave, sensible, level-headed, and a sweetheart.  :)  I'd love to do no-shoes for him but he's also a wimp and he limped around like his legs were going to fall off the one time I tried it...so he wears 4 shoes.

Have fun cleaning (I wish I did that to keep busy, instead I surf the web), and yay for your b/f visiting in a few days!

Hehe, I checked this morning and it's already out for delivery, so it should only be a few hours possibly till the courier has it. It still probably won't be sent to the consulate till tomorrow, since she has to enter it into her records and make sure everything's sorted, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on things :P I can't really focus a lot in order to clean--my brain is just kinda lame and just wants to vegetate lately--but I do the whole mad cleaning bit before my husband comes to visit me :P

I remember that, and I remember telling you I'd be the exact same way when my time came :) I got so protective of my application because I babysat it for 6 months, so I'll feel better once the consulate has it.

Hi ladies...been lurking for a bit!  I was happy to get on today and see so many updates.

Kittenfish - Wow...you've submitted your app!  How exicting...I hope you a get a quick turnaround on yours.  Now try not to worry, while you wait...easier said than done I am sure!  I can imagine what I will be like!

equestrianerd - Good luck with selling your horse.  I know nothing about horses, but you're right, it seems a bit odd that a beginner would come by to look into buying a horse.  I would assume that the more experienced riders are the ones that generally are serious about buying.

Zoya, have fun cleaning...I tend to do the same thing when waiting.  I can't believe BF will be there in 4 nights!  Sooo exciting!

Hello to everyone else!

DF will be here at the end of July for engagement photos and my daughter's birthday...I really should change my ticker! :)

ohhh KF, good luck with the visa!!

i've been away from the computer for a while, as i had to go to north carolina to attend a wedding last week. still catching up on posts i've missed, but wanted to quickly post to say that I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW IN ENGLAND!!!  so very excited!

i just put an application in at the last minute, wanting to test the waters to see how my CV would fare over there.  the position doesn't formally start until 6 or 7 weeks after my planned moved date, so i'm flying over next week for 4 days to interview and keeping my fingers crossed that it will go well!  it's also a good excuse to move more of my things over and hopefully cut down on shipping costs.  i can't believe i get to see my fiance in just over a week!!!

LOL, they're doing alright I suppose. UPS cut it really close to the wire yesterday in getting my package to the courier, so it didn't get there till 7.30pm. So I think she'll be processing it this morning and handing it off shortly after that, though I'll be just plain nervous for the next few days I think :(

Edit: nevermind for today. Since UPS was too bloody late getting it to her (3pm guarantee my bum), and she has clients this morning, it won't get reviewed till this afternoon and handed off tomorrow. I'm more upset with UPS since if they had stuck to their guarantee this wouldn't of been an issue. But, I shouldn't complain, it could be worse, I'm just a little disappointed is all since the sooner this is over the better  :-\\\\

KF, that stinks...nice of UPS to have a guarantee and not meet it!  ::)

Wow, that's awesome!!!  I got antsy and submitted by CV to a couple of recruiting agencies last week, to test out the waters, but have yet to hear a peep.  I'm not sure how recruiters work over there, though, so I don't know if this means 1) they won't contact me until they find something for me 2) they will ignore my submission because I'm not yet a citizen 3) they're slackers and will ignore my submission entirely.

Good luck with the interview, and have fun with your fiance next week!

Hehe, that's what I thought too :P But, I did get a phone call from the courier today, she reviewed everything and it looks pretty good (i.e. nothing major is missing). So, it should be submitted tomorrow morning, and she's thinking I'll probably hear back on Thursday--she also explained how she'd phone me up when it gets issued and all that jazz. Extremely nice lady I think, she's answered all my questions and gave me a pep talk today--she told me not to sweat it too much, and not to be nervous. She mentioned that the consulate *might* call just to double check a few things, but to be relaxed and honest, but not to give my life story :P

And lilybelle, good luck with your interview hun, and have fun with your fiance :)
