I swear this thread makes me smile every time! So much positive energy

kf - Good Luck on getting a speedy response - Waiting and waiting must seem like forever

lilybelle - I will think only good thoughts and congrats on getting an interview and good luck on getting the job!

He's a 16.3h 10yo Thoroughbred gelding, did a brief stint on the racetrack and a few years of foxhunting, and is now trained as an eventer.  He's super brave, sensible, level-headed, and a sweetheart.  :)  I'd love to do no-shoes for him but he's also a wimp and he limped around like his legs were going to fall off the one time I tried it...so he wears 4 shoes.

Have fun cleaning (I wish I did that to keep busy, instead I surf the web), and yay for your b/f visiting in a few days!

I did pass this info on to my Aunt who ya never know may know someone ;-)

Me - just waiting but just 2 more days (insert happy dance here) woohoo.  He barely escaped the rig before the stopped all flights due to FOG - we have some GOOD karma - crossing all fingers/toes/legs to hope customs goes this quick in DFW

Have a fab day!

Thanks!  I mainly want him to have an awesome home, ideally with a buy-back guarantee for myself so that I know he's taken care of.  I'm going to miss his goofball face. :(

I also went to the doctor today and got a diagnosis of kidney stones...ugh.  I'm pretty tolerant to pain, but I'm not so fond of pain that makes me not want to move.

In happier news, my hardwood flooring gets installed next week, so if I can muster up the energy, I'll work on clearing out my house a bit this weekend, so that hopefully next weekend it could go on the market and I could find renters!  One step closer to moving to the UK...

...I got my visa. Eeeeeeeek!

I got her phone call this mid-morning ish. First she told me I didn't get it--and she must of heard the panic in my voice, since she laughed and said she was joking, I was approved up until November 2011 (I think she said November, since I asked for it to be dated 01 September 2009). She also explained how, as immigration law stands right now, I should look at doing my Life In The UK test and whatnot, at least until I hear more on what changes there are going to be with the laws currently being debated by the government.

It's like this huge physical weight has been lifted off my shoulders--my body isn't as tense as it was earlier, and now I can book my ticket and pack my stuff. I still need to sort out a few things here at home first (and help my mom cope with the news--she's really excited, but I know deep down inside she's a little upset), and I should be flying out on the 4th of September :)

You guys are absolutely amazing--I think if I didn't have you, and my friends on my facebook and livejournal, I would of went insane :P It's been awesome keeping up with you guys, it's kept me from turning into a complete nutter. You girls seriously rock :)

YAAAY Kittenfish!!!  That's awesome news!

Go out and celebrate tonight - I'm sure packing and moving will provide their own stresses. ;)  (Or maybe that's just for me.)

Yippee!!

Ladies, I saw the Proposal the other night.  It was...predictable, but a nice little romantic comedy.

TWO WEEKS til Tim is here, and today I get an email from him with a website URL and the subject "let's do this next summer".  :D :D :D :D

Thanks guys :) I still have a couple months to pack, and I live with my mom so she doesn't mind if I leave stuff here with her. It's just coordinating my clothes, and some books and things like that, but now I feel like I can do it in earnest and not jinx myself (I can be horribly superstitious at times :P). I'll see about tonight, if not tonight then I'll pack it into some 4th of July celebrations this weekend possibly.

And Tim seems like an incredibly sweet bloke, I'm getting excited for you, I love those pre-visit jitters :)

He's amazing.  And I love it when he takes the initiative to plan for something in the future...shows he's thinking about US in the future, you know? Last night we were talking about fighting and how he's only raised his voice to me once (over the bathroom heater being on while I was in the bath!) and I told him I wanted that to be the only time he ever raised his voice to me...and he said back that he can't see down the road 10 years or more if I'd ever do something to make him mad, but he'd do his best.  The fact that he can see us together for 10+ years makes up for the lack of an engagement ;).

Aw, how sweet is this?

My friend and his wife are going to the UK in September (but before my visit) and he wants to take a special trip up to Lincoln to take Tim out to dinner.  He hasn't met Tim yet, but he wants to take him out to dinner since he makes me happy. Awwww.

hi ladies!!! I know I know been a long time....for those of you that don't know me lol I am one of the original romantic movie girl LOL...

Can't believe it's already been 6 months!  It is so wonderful to be together and not worry about counting down, well almost not counting down.  We bought our tickets to go home for Cristmas this year, at that point it will be exactly 1 year and 1 week since I have seen my mama:)  Can't wait!

And yes, it is as wonderful as you can imagine, but let me tell you it will be NOTHING like you thought it would be.  As wonderful as it is to be here and to be with my soulmate FINALLY, I get homesick.  The economy is bad here at the moment and finding a job isn't as easy as I may have thought it would be originally.  I am lucky though that Alan has a fantastic job and doesn't mind taking care of me ;D  Congrats on the girls who have recently got there visa!  And fingers and toes crossed to those who have yet to get that life changing phone call or email!!

Looking forward to our big uk yankee fourth of July celebration at Jo's house tomorrow!!  WOOOWHOOOOOOO

Hope everyhone is well !! talk to you ladies soon AND SEE SOME OF YOU TOMRROW !!!!!!!

PS GOOD LUCK TODAY PATTY!!

Thanks for all the congrats, I'm still wrapping my head around it--but it's the best 4th of July present *ever* :P It should be here today, it's already back in Oregon at least so I'm just waiting for the FedEx guy to show up.

I think I will totally have a big case of homesickness when I move over--I'll deal with it, because I'll be with my husband and he has an amazing knack of curing what ails me. But I will have the moments where I realize that I won't see my mom for maybe 6 or 9 months, and I won't see the little things I've gotten used to by growing up in the States, and I'll panic. And in some small way, I feel like I'm leaving my mom behind and it makes me a little sad, even though she's excited for me--I overheard her tell my uncle once that she wants me to have a family of my own, since she won't be around forever. She wants me to have more opportunities than she ever had, and she's seen me and Steve together and knows that it's the *right* thing to do.

But for right now, I'm well excited--Steve's sending money over so I can book the ticket and finalize that, and then just sort out the smaller things around here before going over. It won't hit me until I see the visa in my passport, but I completely notice the difference between myself today and yesterday--now I can actually relax a little, and enjoy my time left here in the States :)
