Aww, I'm sorry JEP. That's very frustrating about your hubby's schedule, and especially at Christmas time. There is more than a week left, though, so maybe there's still time for it to all come together. Does he have any days off coming up before the holiday?

As for me, I'm just finding it utterly hopeless to find the motivation I need to finish these two papers before my mom comes on Christmas eve. I can't get focused, no matter what I try. Today I was all about getting it done, but the heat broke, and I think I could literally chip off pieces of my fingers now, I'm so ice-cold. The uni library closes at 5pm, so it's no use heading over there. I just want to find some motivation and focus. Anyone have any to spare? Please? *sigh*

I have told him how I feel. I told him last night that I was worried that we wouldn't have time to do the things we planned to for Christmas. I am sure we will eventually get a tree..and if we don't it isn't the end of the world. At least we are together for the holidays...I feel a lot better now that I vented here and had a good cry. Whatever happens will happen this Christmas. I won't stop missing my family and I think part of the reason I get upset too is because I still feel like I don't belong anywhere. I don't belong back home in the states and I don't really belong here yet. So I am just not settled yet. I am on my way to being settled. I have a few jobs which is getting me out and about. I have some good friends and a husband that loves me. But there are just some days where I feel homesick and today was one. Thank you ladies for listening.

Sheateawholepie I am sorry you can't focus on your paper and it I am sorry your heater is broken...You can do it I know you can...I know you can...I am routing for you...

I'd like to say I can help you with the motivation, but considering I can't motivate myself to do anything at work for the past couple weeks, don't think I would be of any help! :)

My last day is the end of this month and my employer has a list of items he wanted completed before I leave...I just laughed.  Seriously, I resigned and you think I am going to have the motivation to get these things done.   ??? :P

Btw, that sucks about your heat...hope you can manage to stay warm.

Oh Jo Jo I know how you feel it is so hard around your 1st Christmas....I moved here Dec 15 right before Christmas...and it never quite felt like the holiday I thought it would:( Can his dad take you to go get a tree or something?? Wish I wasn't 5 hours away! I would come take you! Even if it was a 2 hour drive I'd still come!

Which brings me to the reason I came here today....It is my 1 year anniversary!! HOLY CRAP  :P I can't believe it has been so long! What an emotional crazy year! I am super excited to go home on Monday I cannot wait! I'm a little worried about flying at 22 weeks pregnant (I am showing quite a bit and already fairly uncomfortable) and worried about my body not keeping up with my brain lol I hope people in Denver realize what a rough pregnancy I've been having and don't expect me to run around all day every day! There will be some disappointed people if they do!

I'm sorry for the girls that can't be with the men they love this year! Just enjoy the times you have with your family....trust me you'll need those memories:) And congratulations to the people that are here for the first time! I hope it is everything you thought it would be! Thanks for everything girls Merry Christmas...or as they say here Happy Chrismtas!! lol

Josy, hang in there :).  Tim hasn't yet put up the tree because we're holding "second christmas" after I arrive so we'll do the tree then...we have an artificial one, but we're considering getting a real one in a pot to keep outside during the year and bring inside at Christmas.  Could you go get an artificial? I went and bought the 3-foot tree we've got last year at Wilkinson's on the bus because I wanted a tree and Tim didn't have one.  It was an interesting site, but I got it.  OR even check into Tesco to see if they'd deliver a tree?

LAst night, the keyboard on my laptop went.  the I key is completely dead and I've taken it apart three times and no such luck. WHYYY does this have to happen right as we'll be filling in the online application?!  Fortunately, I'm on my mom's laptop during the day, and she's managed to find an extra keyboard at work for me to plug into my laptop...and then when I get to Dunholme, we've got the desktop and Tim says we'll get me a new laptop. Really not good for a writer to not have a computer!

Jenn it is funny you should mention the christmas branch lol....well after I had my breakdown the other day about not being ready for christmas I made a decision...hehe
I was going to have the best christmas no matter what. My dad had sent me a little 3 foot prelit christmas tree..that looks like Charlie Brown's tree...I plugged it in and it was beautiful for about 30 minutes till all the lights blew out lol..so as you can see I am having a Christmas Vacation Christmas..But even if I can't get the lights to work I am going to decorate the tree. I got 2 boxes from my parents the next day with our presents and a box of candy canes and some special ornaments and a little stuffed westie that plays jingle bell rock...so that made me smile...I have given into the fact that I can't be and won't ever be Martha Stewart so I am making due with what I have..I even made some chocolate chip cookies last night and even they didn't turn out right hehehe..but they still taste ok...so as you can see my Christmas is great so far and I mean that sincerely because no matter what I will always remember our first christmas together..I am just glad I have you ladies here to vent to when I need to. I was just feeling homesick and I sat down and told Jason how I was feeling and we talked about it. So no matter what I am going to have fun...

Thank you to all you ladies for your support...I hope you have Great Christmas and a Happy New Year...Miss Jamie should be on her way home to the states as we speak...

Jamie thanks to talking to you ...you prepared me for how I was going to feel...I hope you have a great time back home...and eat lots of good food for me to...lol
I still haven't perfected the perfect cheesesteak out here yet...but found out Sainsbury's carry Skippy Peanut Butter...Now it isn't Jif (my all time fav) but it is close lol so that is a good thing

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I just said goodbye to my fiance yesterday. I cried my eyes out several times.

I wish I lived in a movie sometimes where I could do those exact same things.

Hope the waiting time goes FAST!

Welcome HStultz...it is the hardest thing to say goodbye to the one you love..and to wonder when you are going to see them again. But once you get married and get your visa all settled and you are finally with him or her it will be all worth it...and yes these romantic movies totally help and totally make us cry our eyes out lol

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year

Hope Jamie had fun in the US this Christmas...and Patty enjoyed her first Christmas with Ian as a married woman..

I enjoyed mine it was my first UK Christmas and my first married Christmas and it was great...although I am looking forward to being in the US for Christmas this coming year...

So I did it!

I now have a ticket to fly to London on February 4. :D

I booked a round trip ticket, since I'll either be going back to fetch my pets or I'll be going back to visit family (or worst case, I'll have to come back if I don't find a job and run out of money, but I'm hoping this won't happen, obviously).

So excited. :D
