Good luck!! :) How exciting! Starting this new chapter of your life together.

How's everyone else, btw? I'm super sleepy after going to a Christmas party for the running shop last night. But, it was worth it. I had the BEST creme brulee ever! It even had bourbon in it. Yummo.

OMG there is a book about that!?!  I must find it immediately -thats like MY story! Hopefully it has a happy ending...

I am good - no crises so far this week *knock on wood*  Creme brulee with bourbon sounds like heaven! Our office Christmas party is a lunch on Wednesday.. kinda boring, but I never complain about a free lunch, thats for sure.

Did you finally get that darn tree decorated, Beth?

oh, and something cute to share - David bought me a hair dryer and hair straightener so I dont have to bother with voltage conversion. Its things like that that are the sweetest to me. :)  awww

Here it is!  How can I resist??

I am very excited, but a little nervous as I always tend to be.  There is a big birthday party for his friend's girlfriend while I am there and for some reason, I am terrified of being around a big crowd of Brits (especially women) being the token American. Silly, I know...

Carey don't be nervous about the party. I was very nervous the first time I was invited to a girls night with my friend and her girlfriends.I thought I would be the odd man out...and yes in the beginning I was the novelty being the american...but it made it easier for them to talk to me...and by the end of the evening it wasn't american and british anymore it was a group of girlfriends drinking cocktails and dancing and singing 80s music...you will be fine...just be your sweet self and they will love you

Yes that book was perfect and when you read it since you have been thru the waiting to see him the plane ride and how great the train ride it is...it makes me remember a lot of good times...let me know what you think

Carey, I am SO intimidated by Northern Irish women.  I get so freaked out by my boyfriends step mother, as she is very posh and I usually feel like she's watching me and thinking "how quaint" or something to that effect.  And all the other girls just seem scary to me.  I'm not a huge fan of most girls in general, so the idea of being in a room with many strange ones does not sound like fun.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll do grand.  Good luck!

And those books sound amazing! I may have to Amazon Wishlist those puppies!

I'm also good.  Trying to enjoy the time home with the family (trying is the keyword there...) and getting so excited for Christmas.  And even more excited to leave for Ireland on the 26th! I can officially say, "I leave for Ireland next week"! Woo hoo!  ;D

LOL Brittany - "not a huge fan of most girls" - you are so like me!  I'm just going to tell David hes not allowed to leave me to the vultures...er...girls at this do.  My guess is they will either ignore me or be fake nice to me (and I am not sure which is worse).   Silly to worry about it though - I'll just slam the Strongbow if things get bad :)

How long are you staying in NI?

I hate the fake-nice thing, but I'm even more terrified of girls openly hating me.  :-\\\\

I'll be in NI from the 27th until the 10th of January, and then I'm landing in DC and going straight back to school. Ick.

I am really so jealous of all of you...Jamie is there to live now...Carey is going for Christmas ...Brittany is going after Christmas...Becca is there and is staying for the new year...the part for me that is the hardest that is because I got bounced in August I can't just pick up and go visit the boy...I wish to heck he would get his butt in gear and come here....But I hope you ladies all have a wonderful time with your men...I hope some of you come back engaged...and happy

And don't worry about the party...think of it as an oppurtunity to meet new people...you are worried because it is a girls party and there will be a lot of girls..you will be just fine and probably have a blast...

Oh, Carey, I'm sure it'll be fabulous. :)  I was afraid of meeting Ian's sisters, because they wanted to have this girlsnight, which in the end ended up being cancelled, so we went to Ian's twin's friend's house where we got pissed off of shots...lol.

I can't really think of anything else right now because I just worked a 13 hour day, and I want to sleep.  I'll be more awake in the morning.

And Jamie better update us once she gets there!  We wanna know she's safe...

...and btw, I'm jealous of all you ladies. :p

Only about 100 days until Ian gets here.

Bah. :p
