oh my gosh...I LOVE point 3!  I may have to adopt this with my boyfriend.  SO sick of being told I'm "wrong"  ::)

Oh good, I'm not the only one this happens to then..lol.

So, ladies, I'm absolutely knackered after today's day at work.  We had a lovely Hanukkah celebration for our Jewish residents, and on top of doing my normal work, my co-workers were lazy cows today so I busted my hump, AND I had to cook potato pancakes.  Then, I had to stay later at work because State came in and my boss didn't want anyone to leave for awhile, so I missed talking with Ian, which, I'm assuming, he had a bad day because he said he wanted to punch my boss.  So yeah, I'm in bed already and about to fall asleep.

But, Carey, just wanted to again wish you a safe flight.

I'll be more with it tomorrow. xx

So...Tim went into town all secretive a few days ago without me.  Came home and told me he has to go back into town on Christmas Eve....and I noticed my silver ring isn't in his wallet anymore....

*fingers crossed*

Awwwww....wifey! :)  Not long now, Jamie!  And btw, sorry for the novel I wrote on MySpace...... :p

Woke up and thought "Carey is leaving today!"  She's probably in the air already...lol.  But I got butterflies for her.

And ladies, how are things?!?  Everyone ready for Christmas?  We've got our department work do today, which I always find to be more fun than the building one.  It's just a small, intimate one.

Becca, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you as well!  :D

You're not working the shop today, are you, Beth?  You need a day off.

Keep me posted, Josy!

WOW! Well, it took me three days but I've finally finished reading this thread. I knew I should have started reading it sooner, but I was just a LITTLE busy with a wedding and all. And to be honest, now I don't know what I will fill my time with at work!!  [smiley=book.gif]

Of course, like everyone on the thread thus far, I COMPLETELY agree with several topics that have been discussed:

1. Love “rom-coms” and have repeatedly watched cheesy movies lacking talent or plot simply because of the English interest

2. Cameron Diaz bugs (but strangely I still like to watch her cuz she's pretty and hella skinny and is quirky and fun and I envy her... and that's probably why she bugs)

3. Have at one point or another felt EVERY emotion that has been discussed regarding an LDR - been through hell and back... 4 years and going strong. Just got married!!! (Will fill you in on my background momentarily)

4. Get corrected CONSTANTLY by DH on vocabulary and pronunciation

5. I've very much enjoyed learning about all of you, reading as the friendships have developed and seeing the compassion displayed

6. Jamie - I broke the toe next to my pinky toe once. It sucked. Just tape it to the one next to it, draw a sad face on the nail of the one that's broken (mine was names Sad Sammy while it was broken) and use that as an excuse for Alan to carry you to every destination  ;)

So, I imagine since this is the sappy romantic thread that you will want to hear the story...
Hubby: from England, a town in Cheshire, but lives in Leeds now and goes to uni. (Alan and Jamie, I've enjoyed reading your posts because I feel a little kinship on the Cheshire front.. and you're an adorable couple!!) Me: From Arizona, work for a living (and an LDR). We met over 5 years ago. He was in the states visiting some friends. It turns out we had a mutual friend who invited us both to a local concert one night. He went to go meet up with another girl. I wasn't going to go but decided last minute I would. As soon as I got there I was introduced to the Englishman (who was being ignored by the girl he went to meet up with), to which the first thing I said was "I could listen to you talk ALL night". The response was an eye roll and him thinking I was another American bimbo. Turns out I'm not! :) We talked for the rest of the night and hung out the rest of the summer until he went home. A year and a half later, I up and decided to go to England over Christmas. So I did. And we did. And we lived happily ever after....

Well, that's the short of it. It was a VERY difficult 4 years, as you all know from experience. And just when I was losing hope, in April I got a surprise. I had returned 2 months earlier from my traditional winter in England. It was Easter weekend. The boy was "camping with his friends" so I hadn't talked to him in a couple days, and my sister and I were heading to some lady's house to "help her with a project". She lives in a very big house with an amazing garden, pool, fire place, etc. Upon arriving her daughter said she was in the backyard. As we were walking out there, I thought "that's kind of weird that she would be sitting outside at night... by herself... next to the fireplace... with candles... and roses... but she's rich, so who knows!" Then I thought "why is there a guy back here who's walking towards us?... That guy looks like MY guy... That guy IS MY guy!!" To which I cried and he proposed. Cue the cheesy music, end scene. Seven more months of separation, got married in AZ a couple weeks ago, went on the honeymoon to New Orleans (SO much fun!). We just extended his stay to two days after Christmas and then he has to go back whilst we save and I work on the spousal visa. Then I will start the adventure of adjusting to permanant life in the UK and all the rollercoaster emotions that come along with that... what did I get myself in to?!?!?!?! JK, I love him, so it's worth it.

... And that was the LONG of it!   ;D  Sorry for taking up so much space, but thanks for the entertaining reading over the last few days!

Merry Christmas to everyone!! xx

Chi Chi.....well well, congrats on your recent wedding! :)  How's married life?  And glad to hear that New Orleans was a fun honeymoon.  Can't imagine going almost 5 years LD.  It's been over a year for my fiance and I and I can't take it anymore. lol

Glad our posts entertained you for a few days. :)  It's always nice to bond with others that are in your same situation.  And since you just got married, I'm going to have to PM you and ask you a few questions. :p

Soooo...work do was fun.  The light up Christmas tree hat I got for my boss (which he screamed like a little girl when I got it for him) DIDN'T light up.....oh well.

And now I ate too much and am exhausted....and waiting for Ian.

How was everyone else's day?

Beth, we going to get to see the new hair?? :)

Chi_chi- Cameron should play you in the movie adaptation of that story! OMG how romantic!!! Congratulations and glad your guy could stay at least through Christmas ("but who goes home before New Years??" ;) ) Thanks for sharing the story.

Ok, had a flash of brilliance- got my mom's gift, know what I want for my dad (but probably will wait till tmrw to buy it) and am still stuck on my sisters' gift. Might be doing a late night Target run... we'll see. Gotta prep for that last minute Christmas do first. Yoiks!

Later chicas. Hey! Carey's probably almost or already in England now! :) Yay!!

Absolutely, PM me any time! Here's a tip: after about 2 years you become pretty good at putting up the emotional wall (well I did at least, not that that's a good thing). It's exhausting to be that upset all the time and eventually it becomes a self preservation thing I think. :) No but seriously, I think if we would have taken the dive any earlier it would have probably been disasterous, so there's a reason for everything!

LOL!!! True that. Maybe I should write the rough script and mail to good ol' Cam Cam and her agent.

I just took a look at the list of FOOD for the next few days and realized I'm going to be a busy girl in the kitchen!

We're doing Boxing Day with Tim's family since Tim's brother's gf will be at her parent's on Christmas, so I'm cooking a full Christmas dinner for Tim (He asked....I said yes), in addition to food for Christmas eve...I'm trying to pull in afew of my family's crazy traditions so Tim and I can start to blend things together.

I have iTunes on my Christmas playlist with 8 hours of music to get me through the night..If you're looking for me, I'll be in the Kitchen....

On Tonight's List:

Cranberry Sauce - First batch done and jarred, second batch to be made
Apple Crisp - Done and cooling
Chocolate Chip Cookies attempt #2
Cutting all the veggies I need for soup, side dishes, and dip
cooking/freezing leftover sprouts
freezing leftovers from the past two days we won't get to eat til after Christmas (Vodka pasta sauce, pulled pork for Tim, and some Chicken Parmesan for Tim)
Finding room for everything in the TINY fridge...(did you all see my vlog? it's freaking tiny)
Working around Tim's train models...he has them strewn all over the kitchen table, right where I want to work because there's an event on Sunday he needs them for and he needed to fix some of them

And oh yeah....sleep?  Tim's on the overnight, so he's home at 6a, he wants me to get him up at 10 so he can finish his model railway stuff so we can get it off the table before he goes in for the evening shift..and I have even MORE cooking to do tomorrow....even though Tim's mum told me not to worry about food on Boxing day, I want to bring a dessert, and Tim suggested something Cherry for his dad (who's a Scroge, so anything to get him happy is good) so I'm making Cherry Cheese Cake....and need ROOM for it! YIKES!

...

and for giggles, I have the New Kid's On The Block Christmas Album playing.  hehe!  I LOVE iTunes.

Patty- It's my 365 post today. I still look like crap (please excuse!) from the sinus thing, but you can sort of see the new color. I'm not completely convinced yet...

(Oops! I meant) Becca!!- good luck with all the cooking! I have to bring some champagne (for mimosas Christmas morning!) and asparagus to my parents as my contribution. Thank goodness, since I don't think I'd be able to cook a lot of food!
