Heh. It's rough,  but I'm learning to adjust. Eating either sets me off into being so terribly sick I don't *want* to eat them.

That's really pointless leaving one person in until 5.  Can you sneak out?

Tim's working today 6-10, off tomorrow, and then working boxing day 10p-6a. Three cheers for Network Rail not running trains on Christmas!

I know! I'm in reception, so what am I going to do, answer the phone just to tell people that no one is here and I can't help them?? Unfortunately I can't sneak out, the time clock would tell on me. I heard that one of the executives is supposed to come in today and tell me I can leave early but he has yet to show up and I don't think he's going to. I'll find a way eventually. When it's dead and no one is here I'll just call my boss on her cell and she'll probably let me go.

Hope you get to do something fun for Christmas Eve, even though Tim is working until 10. We're going to go get hot chocolate with my friend and look at Christmas lights. I will miss the outrageous American Christmas decorations!! I LOVE them! I got some Christmas jammies for me and the boy at Target last night too. He'll probably think it's dumb and cheesy, but I don't care - he's wearing them!

hehehe  He'll wear 'em and he'll like 'em!

When he gets home, he's lighting a fire, we're going to watch the Gavin and Stacey special and a few DVDs and I'm making us a whole slew of snack foods and veggie dips to munch on.

Ew. My mom just told me it's raining ice pellets in PA.  Yuck!

I can second that. Most definitely.  It's been sleeting/raining/freezing/DISGUSTING since last night around 11 in Schuylkill County.  I can't open my car doors. Everything is iced shut  >:(

Looks like I'll be going to Christmas mass in the morning instead of tonight.  I really don't want to get up early tomorrow... haha

My mom's worried my aunt won't make it over - she was driving from York to Lancaster, but well, if you're from Schuylkill, I don't have to tell you how horrible PennDot is with spreading salt!

With those city names, you could practically be talking about England! I was thinking, "her mom's in the UK, too??" lol

So, the whole post office/shopping thing was quite an easy endeavor!! Yay! I'm glad to be done. Only 2 people in line at the post office (on Christmas Eve!!) and pretty much regular traffic going to Borders and Target. I was pleased. I (rather brilliantly, I must say!) decided to buy tickets to the Flogging Molly concert that my sister said she wants to go to. I've been racking my brain for her and it struck me finally! The tickets were $26 a piece, but in the end, ticketb@stards added $25 in fees for 2 tickets!!!!!!!! It was ridiculous!! She'd better like the tickets. I'm planning to wrap up the ticket confirmation email in a box for her to open. hehe :)

Well, gotta get going since I'm leaving soon to head to my parents. Luckily no ice or snow or anything (it's Georgia after all!) Merry Christmas eve everyone!

Oh, by the way, I saw an advert for a new addition to our collection of romantic movies set in London. It has Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson it, too. :) Opens tomorrow!!

Ladies....the old ring of mine Tim had in his wallet for sizing is sitting on the bookshelf on my side of the bed next to my N810....

I'm not sure what his plans were...I hope I didn't ruin it by seeing the old ring, but I left my mobile upstairs and went to grab it in case he needed to text me and saw it.

So I worked today, working half a day tomorrow, and working Friday this week.  But then again, a nursing home never closes.

Super Target sounds thrilling, btw. lol

And Becca, you'll HAVE to tell us what kind of ring you get.  Maybe it could be *the* ring since you did say he'd have to buy another one when he does propose, and most guys don't like to buy things anyway...lol.

OH!  And how was The Gavin and Stacey special?  Ian told me it was on this evening, and since I'm stuck in bloody America, I won't be able to see it, and I LOVE that program.

Hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas Eve....I think I'll make something to eat here then wrap my nieces' presents, then go to bed early.  Atleast I got to speak with Ian this evening.  ANNNNDDDD.....he sent me a dozen, long stemmed red roses to my work today apologising for not being able to fly out this weekend, even though I had known about it for weeks.  They're gorgeous, and all my residents wanted to see them...lol.

Sooo...if I don't get on here tomorrow (which I probably will, but still) I want to wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!  Seeing as it's Christmas in England already. :)

xxxx

So last night when we went to bed and I saw my old ring, I said to Tim "what's this doing here?" and he said "oh, I don't need it anymore".

We go to sleep and I woke up SUPER EARLY and tried to prod him awake with cries of "presents! It's Christmas!"  and we finally headed down...opened stocking stuffers, and he pulled out the little box from H Samuel.

He got me a beautiful Butterfly ring..."to show you're my girl, and I don't intend on being with anyone other than you". AWWW!  (photo later...he took one on his camera and he's busy with the fire right now)  He picked it out himself and Im' so proud of him.  He couldn't remember which shop I had seen the ring I liked at, so when he saw this one, he remembered I liked white gold, and butterflies so picked it out.  It's a PERFECT ring for me personality-wise, and fits perfectly.

But funny story - he almost didn't have the ring to give to me! The shop was locking up when he got there and he had to wave the reciept around and explain he's on night shifts in order for them to let him in to get it!  He panicked for a few though, thinking he wouldn't have anything "big" for me.

My other gifts from Tim - John Barrowman's autobiography (Anything Goes), Searching for Harry Potter (a book about HP locations), "Don'ts for Wives" (this book from 1908 that we kept giggling over at Waterstones), "Know Your Sheep" (a book about sheep, because...well, it's a long story. I'll explain later if you want to know the sheep thing), A beatles make-up bag (I saw when we were in Liverpool), A Doctor Who pencil case, a mini cooper mug, the purple USB hub I liked at Maplin, and oodles of chocolate.  WOW, he really spoiled me.

...and so did his family. For being so far away from my mom, his mum *really* outdid herself in terms of making me feel like part of their family.  His family gave me Pajamas and slippers, the same traditional chocolate mix all the kids get, a bath set, Dalek bubble bath, a TARDIS face cloth, a purple handbag (super nice from "the G's" (grandparents)), and a pashmina!

I feel so loved right now.

Becca! It's beautiful! I love it. :) I'm especially jealous of the Beatles' bag from Liverpool! I can't wait to go there next summer. I've been dreaming of going there for about 20 years!!! (You've seen my yahoo id, right??) Sounds like you are having a lovely Christmas with Tim and his family.

The best thing I got? A Thrashers' official jersey!!!! WOOT! I'm super excited since I've wanted one for ages. I'm going to get it personalized with my favorite player's name and number on the back. I also got a beautiful silver charm bracelet with a runner charm from my parents among other things. :) My mom got my dad a GPS and he got her a sirius satellite radio. They are so cute downstairs, both trying to figure out how to work their new gadgets! We had a great homemade breakfast and are watching A Christmas Story on tv now. :)

Hope the rest of you ladies are having a wonderful day where ever you may be today!

Hi digitalsea. Welcome! You can introduce yourself in the Welcome Wagon area. (it's another part of the main forum where people typically post intro messages!)
