ok I found out why Andrew McCarthy looked different in the ending of Pretty in Pink:
This is from IMDB.COM
When the ending was re-shot, all of the principal actors had to be called back. Andrew McCarthy had already lost a substantial amount of weight and shaved his head for a new role in a New York play called "The Boys of Winter". Although he wore an auburn wig, he's noticeably more gaunt in the re-shot scenes.

I am glad I finally figured that out...

imdb.com rules! I am always going there (or tv.com) for random info on shows and movies. For example, I just watched Cold Case. The main character (murder victim) looked SO familiar... tv.com to the rescue. He was the red headed bully from A Christmas Story!! Heh!

Ahhh....Pretty in Pink. :)  One of my absolute favorite films.  Maybe that'll be my "movie of choice" while I fall asleep this evening?

And Josy, it's early, but I HOPE HOPE HOOOPEEEE you hear from Jason today.  You'll HAVE to let us know!

Beth, don't work too hard today! :)

Carey, feeling any better??  I hope so!

And I'm at work again today.  *sighs*  Tomorrow is my day off.  I was going to say something about days, but I'll jinx myself if I do so...so nevermind. :p  And maybe tonight I'll get to catch up with Ian.  He went to London to spend time with his cousin all weekend, which I'm jealous about....lol.

Hope ALL you ladies have a beautiful day!

Not feeling any better, but a week of being sick is still worth the week spent in England. I absolutely hate blowing my nose (one of a million little quirks I am discovering about myself) and I have to do it ever second it seems.  Blech.  [smiley=bleck.gif]

This is creepy, I am sure, but I had a dream last night that I was in Northern Ireland with Brittany and her boyfriend!  wtf.

Tried the AnneR tactic to no avail.  So, I just asked and I got some lame answer which basically means that I havent been discussed much. Stupid boys. I want them to gossip about me! :)  Something like this would be nice:

Friend1: Dave, shes the best girl ever. You're the luckiest man alive!
Friend2: Really mate, it wont get any better than her.  Want to go ring shopping?
David: You're right, guys - she really is the most perfect girl, isnt she? Beautiful, smart, charming, kind, compassionate... I simply cannot live without her any longer!  Lets go ring shopping right away!

(excuse me for a moment while I snap out of that fantasy)

Oh, and I got a call last night from an England phone number totally assuming it would be David (who else calls me from England?) and it was our JAMIE!  I had a nano-second panic of why a woman's voice would be calling me from England, but then I heard her little accent with the little twang and knew it was Jamie :)

My happy British-wanna-be moment of the day: I just ate Jaffa Cakes for breakfast. Oops.

Oh Josy... it seems like anything I could say would be so cliche and will certainly not make anything better, but I am proud of you for being  brave enough to admit to the reality of the situation eventhough can only imagine how bad that hurts.  I am so sorry, but I do believe that everything happens for a reason, and we often only have to be open to the possible reason in order to realize it.

I would do exactly what you are doing - write a letter, enclose the ring and begin to move on.  My heart aches for you.  Please still be a part of our little group - it wouldnt be the same without you :)

Josy... BIG HUGS!!!  You do what you need to do, girl. Don't try to hide your crying this once at least. I say let it all out, have a good cry, and then you can go forward. It may take a little while but things will be better some day and you will be grateful for the experience, I promise!

Carey thanks I don't know how I could have even begin to get thru this without friends like the ladies and man in this room...I have met some great people...and I am glad you are going to let me stay part of the room  :)

Chi Chi that is just what I am going to do tonight when I go up to bed...I am just going to let it all out and have a good cry...I love him so much and somehow know that in my heart that he may one day come to his senses and we will be together..maybe he is just scared...but for now I have to move on with my life...I am going to wait a little while to tell my friends and family because part of me feels like a loser because I have to cancel the church, the reception and the dj...I have to send back all the engagement gifts...I am trying to figure out if it would be ok to wear my wedding gown to our work holiday party at the end of January hehe it has sparkles and a matching tiara lol...it just feels so overwhelming right now...but I am going to keep myself busy...my girlfriend is a personal trainer and my sister in law and I are starting one of five sessions with her tomorrow..I figure I can put my emotion and anger and sadness into excercise..I will get over this but I will never stop loving him...now enough sadness from me I want to hear the fun things everyone else is doing

Patty did you decide your wedding colors?

Carey how was Jamie when you talked to her?

Ladies what is new and exciting in the New Year? Any good resolutions?

Beth anything new and exciting with you?

Josy :( You know how to reach me if you need me, girl!!! *hugs*

Nothing new for me really. Starting to plan my 2 month trip for the summer to the UK. I really should find out if I need to get some kind of prior visa. I definitely have proof of a job to come back to (teacher contract for next year) and bank statements. Hope that is enough. I hate spending more money on the trip than I have to. Other than that, just work work work now. At least I will (hopefully!) be off next Monday. Going to the Thrashers' (hockey team in Atl) Casino night charity event on Sun. night! I don't want to have to get up early on Monday!! I've conveniently scheduled a dr. appt that morning as well. Heh.

Carey, feeling any better? Also, can you explain about jaffa cakes? I don't know what those are. Sounds like a Little Debbie type thing?

Hi to everyone else! :)

Ok, gotta get some sleep tonight. I was up way too late last night. Was hard waking up this morning for work! Take care, ladies! 1 down, 4 to go, right? (well, 5 to go for me...)

I think your plan is perfect, Josy.  This has nothing to do with your friends, so you can take your time telling them if you want.  I can understand the "embarrassment" of canceling the dj and venues, but there is no reason to feel that way (easy for me to say, I know). If you would like someone to make those calls for you (thats what I think I would want), I could just say I am your wedding planner and our plans have changed - the details are none of their business!

Beth - Jaffa Cakes are what I would refer to as a cookie. Chocolate covered with an orange filling and SO good!  I have an entire shelf of them in my kitchen cupboard at home. You must try some when you are in England.  You can get them anywhere. They are also borderline healthy and athletes actually eat them before/after workouts. Bonus! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaffa_Cakes
Where do you stay in England when you go for the summer?  I dont think you need to worry about an additional visa - it makes perfect sense for a teacher to go on extended holiday in the summer.  Having your return ticket, the contract and proof of funds should be fine.  How much does a visitors visa cost, anyway?

Thank you Beth....and thank you Carey...you guys are so sweet...I like that you are my wedding planner lol...no I think that no matter how hard these calls are going to be I have to make them myself. I have written out my letter to him and going to put it in the mail today...I ended up telling my girlfriend over there what happened and she is going to just drop by his job tomorrow (he works at Spar a convenience store) so she is going to pretend she is stopping by to pick up a few things...and she is going to see what is going on and see if he says anything...I mean he won't talk to me maybe he will talk to someone else..yeah I need to give it some time before I tell family and friends and stuff...I will probably do that next week sometime...I will use this week for myself...

Beth I think you would love Jaffa cakes...to me it is a cross between a soft cookie and cake with orange in the middle and the outside of it is usually covered in chocolate...they are very good....

Wow a 2 month trip in the summer that is awesome...

Don't work to hard ladies...I am off to work now
