have fun, everyone.  We are totally wiped after our trip to the states and I'm definitely not up to traveling anywhere else right now...but maybe one day I'll join up! :)

Shhh, don't tell anyone but I haven't read the book either.   :-[  I didn't think I could make the first meeting so thought I'd take my time with it.  Chapter one is good.   :)

What is the book?  Do you have a list of future selections?  Can't go to meetings  :) but would be fun to know what you all are reading!

Yay to everyone in brightly colored coats!!  :)

What is the book?  Do you have a list of future selections?  Can't go to meetings  :) but would be fun to know what you all are reading!

DH is going to make a website for the group and it will be discussed at the meeting but I believe one of the pages will be our books and perhaps also a recommended by us page-not sure of all the details!  Oh, and the book was Petite Anglais by Catherine Sanderson...You should read it!!  :)

See everyone tomorrow around 3!  Exjerseygirl, we will most likely be upstairs near the comfy couches if it isn't too busy...or you can save us a spot if you get there before us!  Wherever is the quietest :)

A big thanks to swelch2 for organising everything today - I had a fab time, and really enjoyed meeting everyone!!  S, I'm sorry we didn't meet up again at the fireworks - E and I lost track of time and wound up watching them from a cricket pitch near her house before making a RUN for the last train back up north!!

Can't wait for the next meeting - will be thinking about book recommendations over the coming week! :D

Major props to swelch2 for the organizational effort!  It's midnight and I'm just home from the Pig Races at The New Inn - Meg, you would have DIED!  Fake pigs unfortunately, but lots of fun.  Loved meeting all you all and am way open to future meetups! KIT!

Aww, you're welcome!!  I love organising things :)   I enjoyed meeting all of you and hope that more people can join in the future!  Glad everyone had a great time, if only things didn't close so darn early here :P

Don't forget to think of domain names and book selections for our next meeting, tentatively the first weekend in December! :)

Meg and exjerseygirl, it was SO muddy on the Stray!  Be glad that you didn't come out in your pretty shoes, Meg-they would have been ruined!

Have a great week :)

From my recollections of Bonfire Nights past on the Harrogate Stray, it's always muddy!  (and in our instance, it was obligatory to go have supper at a Chinese buffet that was usually full of American patrons - not sure if the same restaurant is still there or not?)  I have a couple of book suggestions I will PM the gang (warning - 'erm, they are classics  :-[).

Another group name suggestion - credit Meg:  Yorkshire Yanks Book Club?  (I'll try to think up some other ideas too.)  :)

A possible Leeds venue for a future meeting:  http://www.tiledhallcafe.co.uk/

true!  not sure I have actually been on a non-muddy Stray!

I like that one!!!  :)

swelch2, although we didn't discuss this at our meeting yesterday, but next month's book club meeting - I still make that as being Saturday December 6 - yeah?

I know we have yet to decide on a place/venue & a book for December, but I've got it on my calendar for the 6th.  (I have to plan out in advance so I know what I'm doing when, or else I'll be all  [smiley=dizzy2.gif]).

You are correct!  I like the idea in keeping it the first weekend of the month.  Helps everyone arrange their schedule and the like :)

December the 6th is the next meeting-write it down ladies!!   :-*
