Fulham FC - tickets
« on: October 28, 2008, 05:21:34 PM »
While I wait for my paperwork back for my ILR I thought I would post again (it's been a while) about my football club, Fulham.  For any of my London based UK-Yankees, I am a season ticket holder at Fulham now, been so since I moved over, and I have found it to be a welcoming crowd and in a nice part of London, family friendly, etc.

I now work at the club and would be happy to introduce anyone who is interested in experiencing a 'football' <cough...soccer...cough> match to Fulham and help get tickets.  I found this site so helpful so it's the least I could do.

The next match is tomorrow evening, October 29th at Wigan.  A long shot but, tickets are still available...

As an Arsenal fan, I am happy to agree that Craven Cottage is one of the nicest grounds in the Football League. The locals are friendly, there are nice pubs nearby, and there is actually a real cottage!

Sadly, I am at the Spurs game tomorrow night!

Mike...I wonder do you know my friend Nicola who works (I think) in the communications office?

Hi Mike,
My husband and I will be visiting from the U.S. (Maryland) in March and I would love to surprise him with tickets to the Fulham v Man U. match on 21 March.  We are both huge "football" :) fans and, like I said, he would be totally surprised and excited to see a match in London.  This will be his first trip to London and I would love for him to be part of this awesome experience.  Can you assist me in finding tickets to this match at a reasonable price?  Every website I check out is ridiculously overpriced and while we want to share this match with the locals, we aren't trying to break the bank.  I even went as far as to join for a Fulham membership, but they were polite enough to explain to me the rules of the membership and are refunding me my membership fee.  Please let me know if there is anything you can assist us with.  Thanks for your help in making this an awesome experience for my husband and I!   ~Steph

Difficult.  Tickets for big games like this will go on sale to members first and will then only go to general sale once all the members who want them have bought them.  You need to keep an eye on the main website http://www.fulhamfc.com/Tickets/home.aspx to see if they go to general sale.

(Unless MIke can pull some strings!)

otherwise, can I suggest some of the lower league grounds, if you have no specific allegience to Fulham or Man Utd.  Though not as glamourous as a Manchester tie, there are plenty of clubs in London where it is easy to get tickets...including...

Barnet
Leyton Orient
West Ham (again, difficult for big games)
Charlton
Crystal Palace
Millwall (maybe not!)
Spurs (most games are going to general sale this season)
QPR

Millwall (maybe not!)

Haha, maybe not if you'd like to leave London in one piece! ;D

Thanks for your suggestions Vicky!  We're both fans of Fulham, though, as we watch all the matches at home on our special Premier League Cable Network. :)  I will keep my fingers crossed that Mike can help me and if not I'll just dish out the cash to surprise my husband.  Thanks again for your help! :D

Ah, fair enough.

Most Fulham games do go to general sale, it is just the big ones that don't (Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool).  Fulham is unique in that it has a neutral section as well, and these are left open for most games so you don't need club membership.

Slight concern....'dish out the cash'?  Please don't buy tickets from unauthorised agents!  Touting football tickets is illegal in the UK and these people (or 'scum') stop us real fans from getting tickets.  Also, if you do buy from a tout there is a strong possibility that your ticket would be forged.
