More confusion
« on: October 29, 2008, 03:02:29 AM »
Hello,

I have been reading the forum but still have a million questions. About this third country certificate. Do I understand it correctly that it can be filled by my regular vet and then sent to USDA? Does my vet need to be specially certified or whatever? Also, what is the timeline of filling in this vet's certificate? I understand USDA needs to approve it not more than 10 days before we fly out, but when can it be filled out by my vet? Thank you for your help

Call the USDA in your state to verify, but in Georgia, this year...

Yes a regular vet can fill it out.  You need to send it to the USDA (or take it in person) filled out for each animal, to section 3 (?) along with the FAVN results and the rabies vaccination certificate.

I was able to submit mine up to 4 months before travel.  The only thing I had to do prior to travel was the tick and tapeworm treatment.

But the USDA will be able to tell you exactly what they want they want to see and when they want to see it.
...the whole damn thing will turn
and return redefined, rearranged, rearranged...
