I miss basketball too, and now thanks to that jerkface Howard Schultz I don't even get to see enjoy it when I go home to Seattle, as our only ever championship team now resides in Oklahoma City.   :\\\'(

don't they have local pubs which show the basketball games?

pubs with TVs are going to show what most of the punters want to see... which is not going to be basketball.

True, but I'm pretty sure I visited a pub in London last  year that was showing Stanley Cup playoffs, so you never know.  :)

I've noticed on ESPN America, they show NFL, Nascar, NHL, and MLB, but they aren't showing the NBA Playoffs - I've only noticed a half-hour long show that gives the highlights of the games. Hardly worth paying for the sports package if you only like basketball. It just isn't popular here at all. Even the local basketball teams in UK don't get any sort of news coverage here, from what I can tell. I think you can subscribe to the NBA website and watch games that way, but I haven't bothered, as it looks to be a bit expensive.

ESPN America don't have NBA rights - or for that matter NFL rights in the UK.

Setanta have acquired the rights to the NBA playoffs

I totally miss basketball!  I didn't give a care in the world about the sport until I started working as an usher at Key Arena (Seattle) about 10 years ago and got to see a whole bunch of Sonics' games courtside.  That changed my mind about basketball forever!  Though I don't know if I love it enough to spring for a $100 season pass... ;)

I checked it out and saw the listings the other day. But, since I don't watch any other sports, I'm not sure flashing the cash for the channel would be worth it. Does anyone else with Sky know how much it would cost? Do you have to get the whole sports package, or can you just choose one channel? (It's a bit too late this year, but I'm sure the Mavs will go all the way next year!  ;)) Also, does this channel show pre-season games, etc., or just play-offs? Any college ball? Thanks!

how can anyone miss basketball? It's so bloody boring and they play like wimps.  I'd rather watch a 3 day cricket match than the NBA tbh  :P

So cool!  Did you know that whacky peanut throwing guy?

And did you hear what happened the tuba playing guy who used to busk outside sporting events? :(

I myself am no sport fan by all means but if I had to choose I would watch Basketball any day over Cricket. Dh loves to watch cricket that is 1 of the reasons we both have our own Sky+ box's cause I call Cricket snooze fest lol.  [smiley=laugh4.gif]  [smiley=sleeping2.gif]
