Oh. My... Wedding Photos.
« on: October 31, 2008, 09:48:30 PM »
Words just can't describe these photos...

I just saw a link to this from the Metro website to the Daily Mail article: £100,000 White Wedding.  These are the Wedding photos from Heat Magazine.

I have nothing about getting married young, but making a total skank of yourself and spending that much money and still looking like utter crap...   ::) :-\\\\ ;D

wow...just wow! Few ?'s...

Isn't your garter belt supposed to be UNDER your dress...   :-\\\\

What mother would let their children wear those horrific outfits?  :-\\\\

The blue brides maid dresses...look like giant marshmellows...OH WAIT OR COTTON CANDY!  :P

And the 7th picture...with the 2 preteens...disturbing.  [smiley=blank.gif]

She's 16 and getting married????:-\\\\ :-\\\\

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.

That was the girl's mother.  The big fake boobies hanging out of her bra, which was on top of her dress.   :o  Great family dynamics there.

Aren't traveller weddings often quite ostentatious (and often involve very young brides)? I know this one is particularly over the top, but it is my impression that is is a cultural thing.
Ok, so I'm smug.

Yup.  It's a different world.  No doubt they look at other weddings and think 'God she's old, and she could have made more of an effort.'

I once listened to an Appalachian girl moaning that she was an old maid. Fifteen and unmarried, the horror!

Still, just because it's 'a cultural thing' don't make it right.

No.  It doesn't make it wrong either.  Just different.

No, but it doesn't absolve it from being wrong, either. Different and wrong are not mutually exclusive.

In what way is it 'wrong'?  It's legal.  How else would it be wrong?  Taste?  As far as I know taste isn't a matter of being wrong or right.

It's not wrong, it's not wrong...she can get married slathered in peanut butter for all I care.

Just making the point that 'cultural differences' isn't an automatic out. I'm not prepared to accept every conceivable practice just because some group of people somewhere have decided is okay. I've run across some decidedly dodgy 'cultural differences' in my time.
