My appointment was yesterday (Monday) at 3:30. DH and I were making great time until we hit stand-still traffic the final 6 miles in Solihull. I will say if anyone is going to this location for their FLR(M), use the Dominion Court Parking Garage (every place else has a 30 min limit). Also, the actual building that houses the Public Enquiry Office is not prominently labeled. Just a small, silver plaque outside a pair of wooden doors.
We ended up being about 10 min late, but we were passed quickly through security and our number was immediately called to see the agent. She asked to see the app, our passports, DHs bank statements, and our marriage license. She took about 30 seconds to peek at his bank statements...didn't ask to see any other info...and sent us to the end counter to pay. There we were told 60 min. for the vignette to be printed and was only about 45 (we ended up taking a walk out by the shops in Solihull for a bit to pass the time).
I'm SOOOO glad I did this in person rather than waiting. Again, like with the fiance visa, I was a bit nervous -- but it was cake!! The worst thing we had to endure was the stinkin traffic.
Anyway, thought I would make a post with some (hopefully) helpful info since I have had a few people ask how things went. So happy all the stress is over for a while. :-)
Also...re: KOL test. I was told it doesn't expire, and once you have your spousal visa or FLR(M) it is best to take it as soon as possible. They said today that it's better that way in case the cost goes up or in case they try to make the test harder. Just thought I would throw that one in as well.
Squeee!! Time to get a J-O-B!!
