Here we go again. ::)

Sorry.  I was just wondering if there was anything I could do; but, it seems that there isn't.  Just continue taking the test.  I am, understandibly, frustrated.

I think balmerhon was referring to the comments in the post above hers... not directed at you at all, as far as I can tell  :).

If it's a one-way street there is no "wrong side of the road".   ??? ??? ???

It depends if its a two lane one way street.  You are ok to drive on either side of the road but at the end of a one way street.(two lane) you must position yourself into the correct lane according to the direction you wish to turn it to.  So if you are going left you get in the left lane and if your going right you get in the right lane.  Its the exception to the rule on a two lane one way street when turning into a two way road.

There really is nothing to love about this country honestly.

I'm not trying to hijack your thread, Dar, but can I just suggest to nc73 that if he wants to actually make the best of his time here, this might not be the best way of doing it (i.e. insulting a country that people who could conceivably be supportive to him love).... A bit of positivity makes things a whole lot better. And if there's not one single thing in an entire country that you can love, I feel immensely sorry for you....

Sorry, Dar. /hijack

Edited because I apparently can't spell immense!

I hate to ask it, but do you think being American might have had anything to do with it?  My instructor and I talked a lot about this.  He didn't feel my being American would create any problems for me where I tested, but he was very clear in saying that he felt strongly that when he had students from Asia and Africa he had to prepare them much more than other students because he felt the examiners were much tougher on them, even though they weren't supposed to be and they would swear they weren't.  It bothered him a lot.

I used to have the same issue (me a Brit ) that they were harder on me but let every foreign national pass their test willy nilly so they looked "politically correct" It would seem that every time I failed my test...a foreign national who took their test at the same time would pass  ???  I had a real Bee in my bonnet about it...but looking back now..it was just frustration and jealousy.  I don't think Dar's Nationality has anything to with it...Circumstances are making her feel that way..thats all.

Dar..can I ask you a question.  What is your driving instructors pass rate ratio? His personal pass rate not the School he drives with.  He should have a card with this information on.  Furthermore..does he have a triangular sticker in his window?? If he does..then he is a trainee instructor..They never tell you this when you go out with someone from a School of motoring.  I found this out myself.

I was firecly loyal to my driving instructor.  He was a really nice man but I was not passing with him and he seemed just as baffled as me as to why not.  I made the choice in the end to swap instructors ( which is a hard thing to do I know ) but I ensured that I had one with the highest pass rate I could find.  I am glad I did as he taught me so many tips and hints that driving for me was far easier.  I think what sealed the deal in me picking him is that he helped a 80 year old lady pass her test in 12 weeks!! and it was the first time she had ever driven.  :)

Keep on trying.  Writing letters of complaint won't do any good.  It's the way this country is and people just bend over and take it.  It's like they've given up here.  They tax you to death and make you go broke just for the privilege to drive.  There really is nothing to love about this country honestly.  Weather sucks.  Small roads.  Everything's closed after 5pm.  So anyways I'm sure you'll pass in due time.  Don't let their rules and regulations get you down.  There are ahole examiners out there that let their power go to their head.

Yawn!  ::)

He is a top-rated instructor and his personal pass rate is 75%.  He owns his own driving school and has been teaching for 15 years.  The issue isn't my instructor (but thanks for the advice  :)) and the issue isn't actually my driving.  I have no clue as to what is the actual issue.  Bad luck?

ACK!!! I didn't mean you Dar!!!

YES!!!

Gad, Dar, If I were you I'd be livid!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Try Cadburys, country side walks, cute little pubs, lots of things to love...fresh bread....I could go on and on.

I don't mean to make it to be that bad.  People just take it that way, ah such negativity.  Everything I said is true.  No lies here.  Doesn't mean I hate the country.  Has it's advantageous and disadvantages just like all countries.

Sorry, everything you say is not true.

In your earlier post you said "There really is nothing to love about this country honestly.".  How are people who love this country meant to take that?  Its not true for the majority of us and it makes you sound very negative.

I'd like to know what you think the advantages of living here are.
