Stand mixer: please tell me I won't regret this
« on: November 08, 2008, 11:42:47 AM »

Right, can't afford the swizzy, more expensive and up-to-date one, so I'm ogling this one.  Please tell me I'm not making a mistake.  Please tell me I'll use it constantly and it will be well worth it taking up what tiny counter space I have.

Can you tell I need reassurance?  ;)

Oh totally!

I've used mine once since we got married in June! :P :P

(I still don't regret having it though...love the thought, just haven't had time to bake)

I have the exact same one and it's probably the best buy I ever made for the kitchen.

My mom has that one and has had it for as long as I can remember.

Cait, it's totally justifiable with all the cooking and baking you do.  You deserve it!!!  I bought one, but in the US to use when we eventually move back.

I LOVE mine! I have a US one I run on a transformer. It works a charm.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Thats a great price, I got mine about 2 years ago for Christmas and we paid a lot more on Amazon, go for it. I love to bake and I use mine all the time....

I make stuff like meatloaf and hamburgers with it, I love it.

Enjoy! and happy Christmas baking!

Yes!  Do it!!  You'll be so happy you did.  Plus, so many of the attachments are fabulous - we use the ice cream maker all the time!

I'd say it's one of my top three things I wish I'd brought over with me (at that point, I wasn't thinking about using transformers for appliances). I miss mine like it was a family member (and since it was my mom's and is now pushing 15, it kinda is).
Another shameless promotion for www.mclevey.com, the best place on the internet to buy art.

I had one in the states and loved it.  Over here, I don't have enough people to bake for.   :(
Enjoy it Cait!   :)
