A few questions
« on: December 14, 2008, 01:25:26 AM »
Got beef broth and chicken broth at the store...they are more like soup with carrots and rice in them. So what should i look for next time?

Is porridge cream of wheat or oatmeal?

Don't know about the broth, but porridge is oatmeal, I believe.

Broth is a type of soup. :)  You need stock.

Porridge is indeed oatmeal.

The best kind of stock to get (IMO) is Knorr Touch of Taste.  You'll find it where the gravy granules & stock cubes are.  It's in a brown bottle.

I buy stock cubes rather than cans, which is what I used to buy in the US. In my Sainsbury's the stock is in the same section as the gravy and marinades. It's not kept with the soup.

Cross posted with Q-G!

I used to buy the Knorr stock in the pouches, but they take up tons of room and local stores seem to have recently discontinued the beef one, so I've switched to the bottles that Q-G mentioned.
