My grandmother also gave me a "breakfast sandwich maker" it goes in the microwave and has a place for bacon, eggs and toast. I took it out of the box and it still has the goodwill sticker on the back. And crumbs from whoever owned it before.

My grandparents usually give lovely gifts. Im not really sure what happened this year...   ???

Wow, somebody paid ten quid for that?  I'm glad your gran at least had the decency to get it at a charity shop rather than paying full price.  :)

This thread is in desperate need of resuscitation!

Yesterday we got an odd gift. I never open presents before Christmas, but it got sent to Mr and Mrs K at my inlaws' house, so my MIL opened it thinking it was for her. It was a GIANT gorgeous round box. And inside, wrapped very oddly in aluminium foil, was a small plate. Not a special one. Just a plate.

I'm keeping the box.

My guess is that someone at Royal Mail or your MIL ate your homemade cookies or biscuits.

If only! No, it was from an insane aunt of mine - aunt by marriage, not by blood. She would never bake. Ever.
