What happens if you're refused?
« on: December 26, 2008, 09:11:12 PM »
Do you get a chance to appeal?
Does it harm you're chances the 2nd time if you've been refused before?
Do you lose your fee?

Yes!

No, but just ensure that the reason(s) for refusal are dealt with if a new application is submitted.

Yes, the fee is an application fee, not a success fee. If you make a new application you would need to pay again.

Yes!

John, I beg to differ with you.  It isn't always that straight forward.  Family based visas usually have ground for appeal.  Non-family based visas may have an administrative review, but don't necessairly have ground for an appeal.

I know the OP is just asking at the moment and hasn't been refused, but...in the case of a refusal, I believe it says somewhere in the refusal whether or not you have a right to appeal.

Let's hope the OP's questions turn out to be rhetorical!

Hi, before posting my reply I looked back at previous posts of the OP, and accordingly still think that "Yes" is the appropriate answer for the OP.

But I agree, it does depend upon what application is being made.
