Most Attractive, English or the Scottish?

I have to disagree.  Brazil has some of the most beautiful women in the world.  Israel too. 

My husband would say Japan.  Who's right and who's wrong?  How does one quantify beauty?

If I went on vacation to Australia and saw lots of gorgeous men would that mean Australia has the worlds most gorgeous men?

I seriously find the xxxx country has the best looking people argument so ridiculous.  It's like the what food is best argument.

True.  I didn't think of it like that. 

Anthropologically, beauty is really a subjective thing! If you are taught that thin or muscles or tall or short hair or long hair (common American beauty values) are "beautiful" then that's the criteria you may generally apply to other cultures outside your own. But it's easy to think of many many examples of very different beauty values- Amazonian natives with large, artificially created lips and ears (using those discs), painted faces of certain African tribes (would you normally expect your SO to have a painted face? Or if you saw someone with one out of context so to speak, would that be beautiful to you?) and others.... Even among those considered by our western cultures to be "beautiful" are not necessarily so to all westerners! Brad Pitt comes to mind.. or Angelina Jolie.. or Scarlett Johannsen (sp? sorry!) ... or Tom Cruise.. or George Clooney!

Just thought I'd post my 2 cents/pence about this. But I will say there are many hot Brits AND Scots! (Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, Colin Firth... )

Folks around me are looking pretty...chapped these days. So I'll say, someplace warmer.

For me, I think I have certain characteristics that I subconsciously find desirable in men and that are found in multiple cultural backgrounds. I like very skinny guys - you know, the gangly rocker look. I also don't like receding hairlines. And I'm always drawn in by captivating eyes or a smile.

Now that's an argument I can really get into!

See, I think Jude and Colin are so fem they're completely unattractive and Ewan is such a twonk he puts me off unless he had a gag in his mouth and a paper bag over his face.

Colin Firth fem?  Not that I find him particularly attractive...  And find me a man who doesn't think Angelina Jolie is beautiful...

Jude yes, he puts me off in the same way that *vomit* Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise do. I think you're the first person I've ever heard describe Colin Firth as feminine though!  As for Ewan, all I can say is, 'YUM!'

I know a few, actually.

People keep mentioning Tom Cruise.  Is he really supposed to be attractive?  Is that something I've missed all these years?  Because whenever I look at him, all I see is that his two front teeth aren't centered on his face.  Weirds me out.
