HSMP Visa and Dependant Visa

Hope you are doing well. I was wondering if you could help me with some queries.
My husband is in UK on workpermit valid untill 2012. He is switching to by making application for Tier 1 HSMP visa in Jan 2009. I am in UK with him on tourist visa which is valid untill 30 April 2009. Kindly suggest if I can apply for dependant visa with his application in Jan 2009 from UK.Will I be required to submit my passport during making the application?

You cannot switch from visitor to dependent of HSMP holder.
