New Year Resolutions?
« on: December 28, 2008, 09:34:54 PM »
OK, someone might have posted a thread already, but I am wondering who is making a resolution this year, and what might it be....

I am crap at sticking with them, so I only picked one, which I hope will be easier than the usual quit smoking, lose weight type of thing:

I resolve to start eating breakfast every day.  I am a cranky-puss when I don't eat for a long time, and I think I will focus better at work and be in a better mood if I start getting up just 10-15 minutes earlier and eating something before work.  I hope this may lead eating less through the rest of the day.

What about you?

Mine is to stay off UK-Y as much as possible even though I do enjoy some of the posts.
We'll see.

To stick to my routine of yoga and pilates once a week and to try my hand at running.  Hopefully I can get the hang of it!

I don't do resolutions, I do goals.  This year it's a joint one- my eleven year old got a really nice cookbook for Christmas and our goal is to cook a recipe from it every week.

Lose weight and take a pottery class.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

I resolve to read more books, I have too many that I haven't read and they are taking up too much space.
Good things come to those who wait...a really long time.

Get in shape and de-clutter.

Appreciate everything I do have in life, instead of being upset about what I don't. (I often forget to do this)

Not let the narrow minded, insignificant people get me down. I just want to be able not to care

Get up 30 to 45 minutes earlier and exercise, quit drinking during the week, and pay off as much debt as possible (with all of that wine money, lol.) Oh and go vegan hardcore (Christmas indulging has convinced me that it's the right thing for me!)

I'm going to try to start cooking properly - with finally moving out of my parents' house, working shifts and being generally lazy, I'm not good at making proper, healthy meals and so I've been lacking with the fruit and veg lately and have started relying on Boots meal deals for lunch instead of bringing my own food from home  ::). I might as well use the New Year to get into the habit of healthy eating again :).

I got the Jamie Oliver Ministry of Food cookbook for Christmas, which I love. Everything in the book is easy to make and doesn't take long to cook.  And it's just enough for 2 people, which rocks!  Plus most of the recipes are really healthy, as well.  I highly recommend it if you need a bit of inspiration!   ;D
