Contacting New York Embassy
« on: December 29, 2008, 10:34:05 PM »
Is there anyway of contacting the New York Embassy at all?
Through email/fax/telephone anything  :(
I've tried calling the telephone number but there is no way of speaking to anyone at all.
I think its really bad that you pay £600 for a visa and you have no support at all.
I know the American embassy's are much quicker at processing visa's than anywhere else, but i still think they should at least have the decency to provide a point of contact  ???

If you do a search on here you will read many posts where you will see there's no way to call and speak with someone directly. The only thing you can do is maybe send a fax requesting they contact you, but unfortunately there's no direct number to a person.

What is the reason you need to get in touch with them? Perhaps information can be sent in a fax? I don't know the phone number myself, but it's either on the site or someone else will post it or direct you to it.

The Embassy sent everything back because they requested more information and we sent it all back to them via UPS next day air delivery on the 23rd Dec and UPS have lost our package :( and are now in the process of tracing it.
I'm just freaking out has to what will happen if they cant locate it  ???
We can't just reapply because my husband is only 20 and if UPS can't find all our documents it would mean we have lost the passport and Biometrics and everything :(
I would like to be able to speak to someone to ask their advice but its distressing because there is no way of contacting them.

Ouch, so it was UPS or USPS? And they gave a tracking number, I assume? They actually SAID they have lost it?

This is not something that would warrant contacting the consulate necessarilly. They would tell you that it is up to UPS to find it since they lost it.

Also...when does he turn 21?

Yeah UPS and i have a tracking number, they are trying to trace it so it could be ok I'm just freaking out bad :(
He not 21 until next Dec, i can't stand another year away from him its killing us.
I know the Consulate wouldn't be able to help in finding it, i just would like to be able to know i can contact them to see if we could submit the documents in again, in the event they have got lost or if they would just say its to late :(

It may be an idea to send a fax then simply to state when your application was originally sent and how you had returned it 23 Dec with the information they requested. I think I recall your previous post about your worry with him having only just turned 20. I think it would be unfair and shady of them to not allow it through since it was originally sent before the deadline.
