My favorite city that I have lived in is Glasgow.  I am currently in Cambridge and it stinks.

Nicest were Edinburgh and Inverness.  I have been lucky enough not to live in any complete dives though.

I've not lived in any towns - just small villages that nobody would have heard of.

I've only lived in Birmingham in two different locations.  Generally, I like Birmingham, and I like where we live now better than where we used to live...

Didn't particularly like SE London, but I'm not a city person. I'm sure that one is *very* much a matter of taste (and neighborhood).

Are you looking for north or south?

I've lived in Headingly close to Leeds - student area mostly. Not very nice. Also in Silsden, W. Yorkshire - in the country - beautiful but far from everything

I've only lived in Maidstone.  I absolutely LOVE it here.  The city itself is just big enough for me.  The outlying area is beautiful. And I love our huge two bedroom flat. I didn't realize that flats are generally small compared to US standards until I had been here for awhile.

Linlithgow is a nice wee town and a very pleasant place to live; however, I'm glad i moved back to Glasgow, cos it ROCKS.  :)

I've been in Surrey for the past five + years.  Guildford has nice parts, and good shopping. (Priorities)  Godalming however, is GORGEOUS and quaint and sweet.

But give me a big city compared to those anyday! ;)

Stacey, we're actually thinking about moving to Guildford this year. We live in Wimbledon now. Do you think it'll be a big shock to the system?
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

I've always wanted to live there, just because I'm a giant dork. Alternatively, I'd like to stop for tea in Pratt's Bottom some day. Just to say I did.

Cool.

My SIL used to live in Wimbledon.  It's much closer to the city and on a tube line (Which appeals to me ;D)  Guildford to me is nice, because it's got a train that can get into london in about 30-35 minutes.  (Waterloo)  Trains run pretty much ever 15 minutes as well which is really convenient.

Have you come to look around?  It's pretty big area, so lots of good and some bad areas. (Mostly good though I'd say)  We have a Cathedral and a Uni as well.

You guys should come down.  I'm happy to meet you and show you around :D  PM me with any questions.
